Our contest winner’s wedding planning has begun! Chris Jon Borja asked his closest friends to be his groomsmen in the most creative way...

He said, “As kids growing up and loving the game of basketball, we all dreamt of being drafted to the . I had this crazy idea/concept about five years ago, drafting all my brothers to be my groomsmen. I did just that.” He even had the help of Dwyane Wade, who sent over a congratulatory video!

• On March 1, 2020, I held my CJB GROOMSMEN DRAFT. As kids growing up and loving the game of basketball, we all dreamt of being drafted to the @nba . I had this crazy idea/concept about 5 years ago, drafting all my brothers to be my groomsmen. I did just that. I surprised them, having their significant others make up a story to get them dressed up to go to an event. I had a whole PowerPoint presentation for them. In the PowerPoint I thanked all the people that helped. I touched on David Stern for giving me this concept. I honored my favorite player @kobebryant , Gigi and the 7 other victims. I even had help from my second favorite player @dwyanewade . He sent a video and showed me and my groomsmen some love. I wished I could have drafted a lot of more of my brothers, but it came down to 2 bestmen and 8 groomsmen. First I would talk about them before announcing their name. Then they were drafted with hats and special Basketball jerseys that was made for them. I am beyond blessed to have these guys beside me on my big day. There’s that green color in the lobby that works really well. And it’s quite hard to find any lobby with that much of a big, open expansive space. The Curtis just has a big, beautiful lobby.”
