The NAC is a Community Engagement Program that connects Philadelphia Residents to Philadelphia resources. Those resources have to do with Housing.

The Division of Housing and Community Development's Neighborhood Program Coordination Unit presents, the Neighborhood Advisory Committee Program aka The NAC Program. So if the needs have anything to do with housing: rent, mortgage, house repair, home safety, gas, electric, anything! The NAC can help you with it. The NAC has existed for almost 50 Years and the program has helped countless residents

The Department of Planning and Development is hiring a manager for Transportation and Infrastructure to lead a small team at the Philadelphia City Planning Commission.

This person will work within the Planning Commission and with other city agencies to solicit and oversee transportation and infrastructure projects from BIL/IIJA funding. The role is both internal and external facing as it requires collaboration with other city agencies and external partners.

What experience do you need? A bachelor’s degree in a planning related field and seven years (five if you have a master’s degree) of planning experience, including two years in a supervisory role.

The starting salary range is $96,050 - $108,065 per year and includes annual raises, ample PTO, a pension plan, deferred comp plan, our health benefits are great and affordable, we're a Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program qualified employer. And you get to work in and for one of the best cities in the country!

What is the Basic Systems Repair Program?

The Basic Systems Repair Program (BSRP) provides free repairs to correct electrical, plumbing, heating, limited structural and carpentry, and roofing emergencies in eligible owner-occupied homes in Philadelphia.
What types of emergencies are eligible?
You can apply for free major systems repairs if your home’s problems include:
Dangerous electrical conditions, such as overheating or sparking wiring or entire circuits that won’t stay on
Leaking or broken sewer lines
Leaking or broken water service lines
Violations from the Water Department, Philadelphia Gas Works, PECO or Philadelphia L&I
Roof leaks which have caused a 4 sq. ft. or larger section of ceiling to collapse (Small roof leaks are not considered emergencies)
Carpentry repairs to floors and joists and limited repairs to exterior walls.
Speak to a PHDC operator by telephone at 215-448-2160, Monday through Thursday from 9am until 4pm, and Friday 9am-Noon. Hearing impaired persons only call TDD at 215-448-2184.

Adaptive Modification Program

What types of modifications are made?
Following an inspection of the home by the Philadelphia Housing Development Corp. (PHDC), an eligible property may receive one or more of the following improvements:

Accessible kitchens and bathrooms (such as lowered sinks, cabinets and countertops)
Stairway elevators
Exterior wheelchair lifts and ramps
Railings
Barrier-free showers
First-floor full and half-baths
Widened doorways

Speak to a PHDC operator by telephone at 215-448-2160, Monday through Thursday from 9am until 4pm, and Friday 9am-Noon. Hearing impaired persons only call TDD at 215-448-2184.

We are offering a homebuyer assistance grant of up to $10,000 (or 6% of the home’s purchase price, whichever is lower) to assist first-time homebuyers reduce the principal, cover down payment and loan closing costs.

To be eligible you must complete a FREE City-funded homeownership counseling program before you sign an Agreement of Sale. Homeownership counseling successfully prepares borrowers for this big life decision. In homeownership counseling, you will learn about:

Purchasing a home within your budget
Avoiding dangerous mortgages
Rights and responsibilities of homeowners
Mortgage application/purchase processes
Improving credit, credit repair and credit maintenance
Money management
Home maintenance
Avoiding foreclosure
Deeds and other legal housing documents

That’s the Neighborhood Advisory Subcommittee—they represent your community on safety, zoning, beautification, and other issues important to the neighborhood. NAS is part of NKCDC's contract with the Philadelphia DHCD - Neighborhood Advisory Committee - NAC.
