As we approach the one year anniversary of our lives changing so drastically, I’d like to gift one dozen cupcakes 🧁 to TWO deserving people. 4 years ago today I closed the bakeshop. It’s hard to believe it’s been so long. I never really processed the grief that came from walking away from something that was attached so deeply to who I was as a person. There was nothing that I hated about the bakery-even the long hours and exhausted legs and feet-because it brought so much creativity, empowerment, and *most importantly* AWESOME PEOPLE into my life. (Ok, sure, some days I definitely hated the sleepless nights and stress that comes with being an entrepreneur but I just kept swimming. Although, maybe it’s like childbirth and you just forget after some time🤷🏻‍♀️). There are plenty of days I still miss it, though. It’s been 10YEARS since I started Sweet Elizabeth’s Cakes and this Valentine’s Day I had the pleasure of baking for and seeing SOO many of my first-ever customers, long-time customers, past brides and grooms, fellow start-up business owners AND even some of my old employees. I’ve also had an incredible response from new customers in my new town! I guess that’s why I never really grieved-because although I closed the bake shop, **YOU** never really left. Thank you all so much for appreciating the care and love I put into all things ‘Sweet Elizabeth’s’! Enjoy those sweet treats with each other ❤️🍾💋🧁🎂🍰
