Thank you for all the help in the past. Looking forward to a fun day! Bringing snacks. 🥳
As possibly one of the oldest active cemeteries in the country, we feel it is time to remind everyone we have a GoFundMe page and as we have done many repairs and continue the upkeep of this historic property, there is still so much that needs to get done, and we just don't have the funding. Please help if you are able. Thank you!

It is with a sorrowful heart that we lost a dear friend of Leverington Cemetery. When I had to take it over for my family Danny Moore of Moore Burials was an angel sent to me to help me navigate the cemetery since I had no experience, and the two people who were running it died within weeks of each other. Danny was there to help me clean up a huge mess left by homeless people; he painted the shed, taught me how to price, and he would set up burials with such ease. He made it easy for me to learn how to manage Leverington. Danny became a true friend. He was loving and had the best stories. I will miss you, Danny. May you rest in peace.
I look forward to working with his wife and family to continue his legacy—all my love and support to his family.
Another homeless encampment cleaned up by Cindy La Rue. Thanks so much for your continued support of Leverington Cemetery.
I am happy to report our homeless group has moved on. Thank you to the 5th District Police for all your help and to my husband for going in tonight and cleaning up all they left behind. We happy to so it. Thanks to all the wonderful neighbors for working with us also. So today the cemetery is back to it park like setting.
Just an update on the Leverington Cemetery. We had the sidewalks along Ridge Avenue repaired. I want to give a shout-out to Eddie's Landscaping LLC. Did some fantastic work. Thanks
Stop in and see our updated museum.

Thank you to all who joined us for the annual cemetery clean up day. Thanks to the Roxborough Manayunk Wissahickon Historical Society for getting the word out to the different organizations. Thank you to Andorra Kids for their generous donation for the continued improvements to the cemetery and of course their support. I also want to thank everyone who came out to help. We are so very grateful to our wonderful community. We will give more notice next year. Mark Caban Radune Mautz. We know how busy everyone is at this time of year, so if you weren't able to make it and would like to donate here is our Go Fund Me Page. https://gofund.me/7668d2ae
Sorry for the late notice, but April 23rd is community day for planting and clean up! Please come out and help if you can.
Thanks so much to Bob Enslin of Kershaw Real Estate and Steve Steven Aldinger for replacing the flag at Leverington Cemetery. I am always so grateful when people are able and willing to help me. The cemetery sits on top of the "Ridge" on Ridge Avenue and so there is a lot of wind and the flags get tattered quickly. We are so proud of the history and in trying to keep the cemetery as beautiful as possible.
And as always donations for fixing the gravestones and monuments are always welcome. https://gofund.me/7668d2ae
Can someone help me? The flad is in tatters and I don’t have a key to replace it. Thanks so much!
On this giving Tuesday, remember Leverington Cemetery. We are working hard to keep this historic cemetery a place for the community to enjoy with dog walks, Plein air painting, picnics, and visiting ancestors. We have so much more work to do. Many of the stones are down and need fixing. The good news is that our homeless problem is at an all-time low with lots of help from the community and the hard work of our landscaper, Eddie's Landscaping, by eliminating low-growing plants and clearing out brush and debris.
Our next big project is the tombstones. We have been raising money, but we need more to make this project a success. This spring, we hope to bring the community together and fix these historic graves. Equipment will be required, along with Danny Moore Burials overseeing the significant monuments being repaired correctly.
All of this takes money. The cost of the back getting cleaned up was over $8k. Fixing the over 500 monuments that tumbled from aging and vandalism is around $5k. Please consider Leverington Cemetery this Giving Tuesday to continue to make this historic cemetery the showpiece it deserves to be.
Thank you to Roxborough Development Corporation for including the cemetery in the Roxtoberfest Events. It was great to see the community enjoying this space.

Thanks to the community for the heads up! The homeless shelter was called and visited him and yesterday the police came and told him he has to leave and if he is still there today will be arrested for trespassing. Tried to get him help first. But this is unsafe for him and the cemetery and the community. Let’s all hope he gets the help he needs.
Please be considerate of this sacred place and NO fireworks in the cemetery. This is not the place for it. Thank you very much for respecting Leverington Cemetery.
Thanks for sharing our story. So much history and needs a lot of love. What a great group of people came out to help to clean up and beautify the cemetery. Hope I can keep this momentum going. Thanks John Lynch of the Secret Garden and Virginia Buchanan, Nancy Fetsurka of the Friends of Leverington Cemetery and Andorra Kids administrator Sharon Schultz.

Thanks to all you attended our Spring Clean up day. So much out pouring of support. We had over 30 people come out to do all sorts of tasks around the cemetery. We had people planting daffodils, planted plants in a few of the cradles, painted and cleaned in and around the shed, raised over 30 tombstones, and picked up over 8 large bags of trash. Eddie, of Eddies Landscaping came and took all the trash. Later some people decided that they wanted to adopt a cradle so that they would be tended to all summer. I am so excited and thankful for all the enthusiasm and for how thankful everyone was to see the work done. We are looking forward to a fall clean up day and to plant many more daffodils so in the spring they will decorate the wrought iron fence that runs along Ridge Avenue. Thank you again to all of you who showed up and for those of you who donated to our Go Fund Me page. Here is a link gf.me/u/zi5s64.

Just wanted to make sure I let you know I updated the fundraiser that we are working toward a fence to secure the entire cemetery. Then when we fix the tombstones no one can get in and knock them over again. I am working on a price, but if you know anyone who would interested in making a fence donation or even providing the supplies and I hire to have it installed. Everything helps.
I am also looking for someone to fix the sidewalk. I have made a couple calls and haven't heard back. Does anyone know of anybody reliable?
