HOW I GOT HERE

Just out of high school I was lucky enough to get a job around the corner from my parent's house at our local corner store. Never thought it would help me out in the future just some quick cash, but over time i developed a great relationship with the owners. Over time I was given more responsibility which kept me motivated and gave me purpose to stay with the business. Within two years I received keys to the store , was placing and receiving orders , as well maintaining and running the business on my own.

After about five more years I decided to part ways and pursue other jobs. Nothing really excited me and working for other large businesses was not fitting. Shortly after quitting my last corporation job, my wife and I decided to go back to what I loved most , the corner store deli. With the resources we had we put it altogether and secured a location and rent for the first four months, we also accumulated many items needed to clean up the store.

My boss turned mentor has given me all the right tools and will guide us along the way. Although we are on track, we still need help to acquire the proper licenses and to fix up the store. We have a one-year and a five-year plan to make improvements, which include providing a delivery service and installing a vent to be able to cook breakfast, but we are taking baby steps for now.

My wife and I are going to be the business owners and full-time operators and the store is located in the same neighborhood we were born and raised in. We have great plans to help the people in the neighborhood. The store is much needed due to the fact of scarce parking and overwhelming hills. By securing this location, we will save many neighbors long trips to other stores by being close enough to walk to.
