Congratulations to our Girls' Soccer Team who are Champs!

Huge congratulations to the varsity girls soccer team for clinching the Inter-Ac title today with a win vs Notre Dame! The Devils finished 10-2 in the league and now have their sights set on the PAISAA tournament where they are the #1 seed! Let’s go Devils!!!!!

Our Early Childhood Center & Trunk or Treat families brought their Halloween spirit to life this Friday and Saturday! 🧙‍♀️👻🍬🌈🍿🍅 Thanks to everyone who decorated trunks, dressed up, and joined in the fun, it was nothing short of spooktacular! 💫 See you at the Buddy Halloween Parade!

This fall, SCHers are digging into their passion for the local environment through an immersive connection to our "Visions of the Wissahickon" exhibition (open through December 3). This past weekend, SCH partnered with Friends of the Wissahickon for a service day culminating in the successful closure of an eroding trail section. We're so grateful for this incredible partnership!

Big duffel bags packed with love and decor 💗✨ were just delivered to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Each one is filled with cozy, personalized touches—fairy lights, Disney princess bedding, art supplies, fancy wall decals—to transform a young patient’s hospital room into a comforting sanctuary.

Meet Ayana, founder of The Sweet Dream Project 🌙 An SCH junior and former CHOP patient, Ayana developed this incredible idea during her CEL Capstone class to make hospital stays feel more like home. Earlier this week, CBS Philadelphia featured her on a heartwarming segment called "Spreading the Love."

This chic new space, nestled in the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership, is all about sparking creativity and collaboration for students pursuing fashion and clothing endeavors.🧵✂️ The summer renovation was led by architect and CEL teacher Juliet Fajardo and Jasmine Matthews ’23 who helped reimagine, design, and even build the space!

Each year, our 9th graders go on a five-day expedition in advisory groups that is a cornerstone of their high school journey. This shared experience on the Appalachian Trail through Philadelphia Outward Bound School creates lasting bonds and offers rigorous challenges—cooking, wayfinding, and hiking miles without a phone—that nurture students' knowledge of themselves and the world, core to our mission at SCH.

The 2024 Fall Barbara Crawford Gallery Exhibition: Visions of the Wissahickon: Art Inspired by the Wissahickon Valley will include works by artists who call the Wissahickon Valley home. Curator, Judy McCabe Jarvis '77, and Assistant Curator, Aimee Rush King, will showcase the beauty of the Wissahickon Valley, highlighting the landscape, historic structures, and scenic views. Springside Chestnut Hill Academy will make curricular ties to the exhibition with a focus on the environmental and historical significance of the Wissahickon Valley and watershed. By fostering a deeper understanding of and reverence for local natural resources, this exhibition aspires to cultivate a community dedicated to their preservation.
