Dysfunctional Family Wines
Sonoma Red blends • A vertical tasting
Zoom • 7PM EST
Tonight we will explore what are known as, "field blends," an Old World technique of mixing together whatever grapes are growing in the vineyard to make a one-of-a-kind wine, that is different almost every time.
We'll be tasting three separate vintages of the same style - a blend of mostly red grapes from the Sonoma region of California that definitely have an Italian flair.
Wine Club members, you already have your wines and your invites to tonight's event. But if you're not a member and would like to check out this tasting, contact us directly and we'll give you a free trial link!
See you all soon! #🍷

We had one of those, what are we gonna do for dinner," moments yesterday where you run through the inventory of what's in your fridge and try to cobble together some semblance of a meal. We had rice, ground chicken, and flour, so Michelle made these awesome on the grill and I made fresh from scratch!
Typically leans heavily on lemons, but all we had was a lime, so lime it was. A chilly glass of was the finishing touch!

Happy ! How about a little for fun?
In the year 1224 the Templar knight Gaspard de Stérimberg, returning from a crusade against the Cathars, asked the Queen of France for a place where he could recover and dedicate his life to God. She granted him a modest piece of land on top of a hill, overlooking the Rhone river in Southern France.
Gaspard spent the rest of his days in prayer, humbly attending to the grapevines that grew here, supplying wine to the local churches and monasteries, as was custom.
To this day, there's still a small chapel located atop the hill and this parcel of land now produces some of the world's most sought-after Syrah wines.
What is the name of this famous wine location? Post your answers below!
This is what a great Sunday evening looks like. Got nowhere to be, game is on the TV, sun is shining, and we're drinking . Cheers, everyone, and have a great start to your week.

A quiet moment of reflection. Today was a heavy day; exactly a year ago my sister passed away after a brief battle with cancer. She was only 52.
This first year has been full of many sad moments, wondering why, wondering who she would have become, and what she would have done, had she survived. You forget for a while, thinking they're alive and well and you can just pick up the phone and call them if you want to. Then you remember - and it hits hard - all over again.
Lorraine absolutely loved taking photos of nature, especially sunsets. Go check her pictures out .moments.lc for me.
This one is for you, sis.
That's a lot of Riesling! Thank you to everybody for weighing in about TDN and gasoline in Riesling yesterday. Video has been shot and will be on the way soon. Let's dive into this controversial topic!

Who here has been dabbling with Artificial Intelligence? What are your thoughts about its use in digital content?
I've been making videos for 10 years now, and am always on the lookout for emerging tech and ways to innovate my content, especially when it comes to storytelling. I'm of the opinion that no idea is off the table: I try it, and if it works, I keep it. If not, I move on.
I've been adding AI images to my YouTube videos here and there, and am finding them helpful in cases where I have to explain something, or a place in time, that doesn't exist anymore. For example:
• A 1700s Frenchman and Englishman sharing Champagne
• Ancient Romans making wine
• A rainy day in Victorian London
• A monk discovering rosé wine
• A moose and a cowboy with red wine (ask me why)
The technology still has some shortcomings and limitations. But overall, I find it helpful in giving my stories a boost!
What are your thoughts about AI, especially in the world of wine? Share here.

Setting the stage for my next video. This time we're all about !
After hitting a low point during the 90s, blush wines have seen a rise to fame unlike any other category. Thanks to social media and hashtags like and the wines are now a part of Pop culture.
While Rosé wine can conjure images of Influencers dressed in pink, lounging in vineyards with cheese plates, there is a truth and a validity to these bottles, that is often overlooked.
Hype aside, these are some of the most enjoyable wines for the warmer weather (versatile for food pairing, too). So in my next video, I'm going to dive into Rosé, how it's made, and the beautiful spectrum of hues and flavors you'll find around the world. Maybe I'll even wear a pink skirt...
Stay tuned, video to come. And if you haven't yet subscribed, please do me a favor and go check out my YouTube channel (link tree in bio). Thanks!! 🌹

Pretty cool that technology allows us this way of life; it's a much different world than the one we used to live in, but just a few years ago.
All I can say is, follow your dreams; anything is possible my friends. Even drinking wine can be a career if you make it so! Cheers #🥂 #🍷
