One Book, One Philadelphia fosters reading, literacy, library usage, and civic dialogue citywide.
Each year, Philadelphians are invited to come together by reading a single novel, then participate in 8 weeks of festival programming (January to March). One Book, One Philadelphia is a project of the Free Library of Philadelphia. Each year, Philadelphians of all ages and walks of life come together to read a single book, followed by eight weeks of inspired performances, discussions, films, workshops and more, at schools, libraries, and community partner organizations across the city.
