GOOD NEWS SUNDAY ✝️ Judge Hanif Johnson’s youngest Judge in Pennsylvania 👨🏾⚖️
Judge Hanif Johnson becoming a Judge not just a tale of personal triumph but also a beacon of inspiration for many, particularly in communities where such achievements seem distant. Appointed at the young age of 27, Johnson became the youngest Judge in Pennsylvania, and his story is a testament to the power of resilience, dedication, and the belief in one’s ability to effect change from within the judicial system.
Born and raised where the odds were stacked against him, Johnson faced challenges that could have easily derailed his life. However, his journey from a troubled youth to a respected legal figure underscores the importance of mentors, education, and opportunities for rehabilitation over punishment. His early encounters with the law could have defined his future, but Johnson chose a different path. He pursued higher education, excelled in sports at the collegiate level, and ultimately received his law degree 👨🏽🎓, demonstrating that one’s past does not dictate one’s future.
Judge Johnson’s work on the bench is set by a deep understanding of the socio-economic factors that often lead individuals into the criminal justice system. His approach to justice when pertaining to the law is by the book and also focuses on restorative justice. By focusing on rehabilitation and community-based solutions, Johnson seeks to address the root causes of crime, offering a model of justice that is compassionate yet firm. His story is a powerful reminder of the impact that determined, empathetic individuals can have on the judicial system, and it serves as an encouragement for young people from all walks of life to pursue their dreams, no matter how great the obstacles may appear. 💪🏾 🙌🏾 👨🏽⚖️

GOOD NEWS SUNDAY ✝️ Arnette Barbershop ✊🏾💈
Arnette Barbershop was founded by Charles Arnette in 1945 in Southern Illinois in the midst of the Civil Rights Movement. Civil Rights leaders ✊🏾 would sometimes hold meetings at the Barbershop to figure out how to move the country forward. The Barbershop is in Carbondale Illinois which in the mid 1940’s was only 7 miles away from a sundown town.
Through it all Arnette’s Barbershop stands as a beacon of tradition and modernity intertwined, offering an experience that goes beyond a simple haircut or shave🪒. Nestled in a community that values the charm of personal touch, this Barbershop has become a Cornerstone for Gentlemen seeking not just grooming services, but a place where camaraderie and culture blend seamlessly.
A long time friend of Charles Arnette Kent Mason is now the new owner 🤝. Mason decided to keep the name and the vision for the Barbershop. Mason knew Arnette envisioned a space that transcends the conventional Barbershop. It’s always been a place where the art of barbering was celebrated, where each snip and shave is performed with precision and care. The Barbers here are not merely Stylists; they are Artisans who understand the importance of aesthetics in a man’s life. They continue to offer a variety of services, from classic cuts to modern styling, all tailored to the individual’s desires and lifestyle needs. The atmosphere gives clients a sense of belonging, where guest are treated to an ambiance that is both inviting and nostalgic.
What sets Arnette Barbershop 💈apart is its commitment to fostering community connections. It’s more than a place for grooming; it’s a hub for dialogue, exchange of ideas, and building relationships. The shop organizes events and workshops that engage the community, promoting not only the craft of barbering but also supporting local initiatives. In this way, Charles Arnette Barbershop is not just a fixture in the neighborhood; it’s a vibrant part of the community’s fabric, enriching lives one haircut at a time.
GOOD NEWS SUNDAY ✝️ The History of Women’s Month 👩🏻👱🏼♀️🧕🏼👩🏽🎓👩🏾⚕️👩🏿🔬
Women’s History Month, celebrated in March in the United States 🇺🇸 , has its roots in the early 20th century women’s rights movements, which culminated in significant milestones such as the 1920 ratification of the 19th Amendment granting women the right to vote. The origin of Women’s History Month as a designated period to honor women’s contributions can be traced back to the late 1970s. It began as Women’s History Week, which was initiated around International Women’s Day on March 8. The week-long celebration was the brainchild of the Education Task Force of the Sonoma County (California) Commission on the Status of Women in 1978. The idea was to correct the omission of women’s contributions from educational curricula and to promote equality by highlighting the significant roles women have played in history.
By 1987, the movement to recognize women’s historical achievements had grown significantly. Advocacy and a growing public awareness about the importance of women’s contributions led to the expansion of the celebration from a week to a month. Congress passed Public Law 100-9, designating the month of March as “Women’s History Month.” This action was a recognition of the need to integrate women’s stories into the fabric of our national history. Since then, every U.S. president has issued annual proclamations designating March as Women’s History Month, celebrating the contributions of women to events in history and contemporary society. The creation of Women’s History Month serves as a reminder of the struggles for equality women have faced and the remarkable achievements they have made despite these challenges.
Thank you for celebrating Women’s Month with us. Where would we (Men and children) be without them? 💯 👊🏾

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.”
Not every (SUPERHERO) 🦸🏽♀️ wears a cape some wear (PUMPS). When I saw this post I thought of my mother. A few weeks ago I had a Friendsgiving with a small group of my loved ones. I got this picture of my mother blown up. This picture is of when she used be a operator then she moved up to a manager and then a director. The Lord truly blessed her.
We had a nice spread of food that was catered by Chef Bernard and some of our guest bought cakes and pies. It was a festive and joyous occasion.
My mother turned 93 this year and I wanted to honor her while she was here. The room was filled with some old friends and some new friends but all of them are dear to me and my mother. Watching my mother smile bought joy to my heart. I would also like to say a special thanks to my Pastor Reginald Johnson and First Lady Ursula Johnson for the kind words, support and prayer.
I wanted take some time to encourage anyone reading this to honor your family and friends. Honor the ones that are always by your side; especially your parents. Thank you to all of my family and friend that came out and helped me put the event together. You are loved and appreciated. 💜
Merry Christmas 🎁
