Partner Pantry Spotlight: New Hope AME Zion Church
Giving a shoutout to New Hope AME Zion Church, one of our beloved Partner Pantries in our fight against hunger πŸ’š They are located on Musgrave St and their pantry is open every first & third Saturday of each month. Fun fact β€” they graduated from the Seed to Supper program hosted at Share's Nice Roots Farm, utilizing the tools and knowledge they learned during the program and applying it to their food security! 🌱 Find food near you ‡️ https://www.sharefoodprogram.org/find-food/

Share's Home Delivery Program on WHYY
Our massive home delivery program was recently featured on WHYY’s "You Oughta Know." thanks to host / producer Shirley Min and her crew for hanging out with us, raising awareness about food insecurity, and telling the story of how, together, we’re working around the clock to fight hunger in the Philly region.

Showing so much love to one of our dedicated Senior Food Box Program Volunteers Jasmine Howard πŸ€— She usually volunteers on weekends with The Junior League of Philadelphia, Inc. but always shows up when we need additional help - like a few Fridays ago when it was our BUSIEST Home Delivery day in which our volunteers helped load cars driven by DoorDash Impact drivers and got a record number of 990 food boxes out to the community 🀩🀩 Thank you, Jasmine for your ongoing support and spending time to help us fight for food justice. Volunteer Appreciation Week may be coming to a close but our deepest gratitude for amazing volunteers like Jasmine continues every day of the year πŸ’šπŸ’«

Some of our wonderful Philly pantry partners Brothers of Strawberry Mansion, Hickman Temple, and New Testament Church of God picked up some equipment from the warehouse today! This is all thanks to a grant Share Food Program got from the U.S. Department of Agriculture for equipment to help our pantries distribute food safely and more efficiently πŸ₯•πŸ«πŸ₯¦β€οΈ#foodpantry #foodsecurity

"In order to move food more efficiently in Montgomery County, we needed the space to do that," said Carla Clanagan, the Montgomery County program director for the Share Food Program." We are so incredibly grateful to Congresswoman Madeleine Dean for pushing forward the funding needed to pay for safety upgrades to our new Montgomery County Warehouse which will further help us serve Partner Pantries across the county more efficiently.

Ahead of the annual State of the Union address earlier this month, BBC News stopped by Share Food Program’s North Philly warehouse to see our volunteers in action, discuss the high cost of food, and how it impacts food banks and the people we serve. It’s no secret hunger is on the rise, and we need all the help we can get to help others. Want to get involved? We encourage you to volunteer, donate to our food justice movement, or spread the word about where folks can find free food today. https://www.sharefoodprogram.org/

The City of Philadelphia may have declared a snow emergency but that doesn’t stop our work fighting food insecurity πŸŽβ„οΈπŸ’š #foodjustice

Had a great time at this year’s Party with a Purpose πŸŽ‰πŸ’šπŸ’« Thanks to Senator Vincent Hughes and Sheryl Lee Ralph for hosting. And big thanks to Sharifa Jackson of 6abc Action News 6ABC / WPVI-TV for helping us get the word out! We were so heartened to share our hunger-relief and food justice work with an inspiring community of people. All of the generous food donations we received are making it back out to families this week!!
