Good News India - Rahman Ministries is a compassion organization that brings hope, healing and comfor Good News India is all about children.
Founded in 1998 by Dr. Faiz Rahman, Good News India today is the largest 24/7 care center in the world! The organization has four distinct missional concentrations; high-risk girls, bonded slavery, Cities of Refuge l***r ministry and tribal outreach. As a matter of fact, there are more than 2,500 children across Northern India in 30 Dream Centers. These children were once in bo***ge, but now know that they belong.
HIGH-RISK GIRLS
At the foothills of the Himalayan mountain ranges, Good News India rescues young girls who are at risk of falling prey to s*x traffickers. Tragically, about 80% of the girls that "work" in the brothels of India are forcibly brought down from the northern hills of India, some as young as five or six years old. We have a network of people and pastors who identify a girl at high risk and we INTERVENE BEFORE they are ever taken away. We have completed our second Dream Center where we hope to house up to 500+ girls and rescue them from the horrors of s*x trafficking. These homes are small but growing as the Lord provides the sponsors. These girls have dreams... to become nurses, doctors, teachers, engineers, etc. We teach them that they can fulfill their dreams and, perhaps most importantly, that they are LOVED.
These girls are listed on our website with their stories. Check it out and share with your friends and family. Together we can make a difference. www.goodnewsindia.org
Note: Because of the location of this northern area where it is difficult to get supplies, the sponsorship amount for our high-risk home in these mountainous areas is $55 USD per month, rather than $40 USD per month for the High-Risk southern W. Bengal/Odisha.
Happy Birthday Dr. Rahman! Hoping you have an incredible year doing what God has called you to do! Blessings….

SALINI BADI
GRADE 5 | FEMALE | ID #7066
Salini's mother abandoned the family and lives elsewhere. Father Hemanta is a day laborer and a drinker, earning about $15/mo. Her family house consists of mud walls and a palm leaf roof. Our director of the GNI Dream Ctr in her area heard about the family situation and approached Hemanta about Salini coming to live in our home. Now she is thriving and receiving a good education. Salina's dream is to be an engineer.

What sets GNI apart from most other Child Care organizations?
First, it is our 24/7 care of a child, thereby enabling us to profoundly influence that child;
Second, a College or Vo-Tech Degree that will ensure that the child need never go back into poverty.
For a child who seizes the moment, these two philosophies can lift him or her into a new world.
But it is expensive... it takes more than the monthly $40 we now ask as Sponsorship support.
But, where else can one earn a BA degree for $2000 in total or a B.Sc/B.com/nursingdegree for about $5.000 in total, stretched out over a 3-year period. By sponsoring a college-age child, you will have a deep satisfaction of knowing you have enabled and empowered them to succeed, where once that child had no future at all. This is the best investment.
I believe two things will live forever... the Word of God and people. All else will burn away. We want to have a healthy College Endowment Fund in the near future and I pray that it will happen sooner than later!

FIRON ‘SOLEMAN’ MUNDA – 5022
Firon's parents both died from untreated malaria. Firon (nickname: Soleman) and his brother Lajrus were left with their adult cousin Santosh who earns about $60/mo. as a day laborer. His house is a hut made of mud walls with a straw roof. Santosh heard about our GNI Dream Ctr and came to the director, asking him to take his two cousins. Now both boys are thriving. Soleman's dream is to be a teacher. (Lajrus is available on the website as well.) www.goodnewsindia.org
SHIBANI BAG – 7068
Shibani's father is deceased. Her mother Brundabati works in the rice "paddy fields" as a day laborer, earning less than $12 per month. The family dwelling consists of mud walls and a palm leaf roof. Shibani has 3 adult sisters. One of them heard about our GNI Dream Center and came to director asking for help for Shibani. Now this young girl is thriving and receiving a good education. Breaking the cycle of poverty IS rocket science!! Part of the strategy is remolding attitudes, beliefs and philosophies that lend to defeat, despondency, hopelessness and despair.
Most child care agencies keep their children at a rented facility for about 3 hours per day providing a shower, a meal, a devotional and educational supplies....then the kids go to government school and from there, they go home. They remain steeped in an environment that prohibits success due to tribalism, animism, paganism, karma, etc... Nights, weekends and holidays they remain in that very negative environment.
GNI is among the rare child care agencies that keep their children 24/7 (a ton more hassle), but our total influence on the kids is deep and profound in every dimension of their lives. We provide 3 meals, snacks, total medical, educational and personal care.
Further, most child care agencies release their kids at age 17 or grade 10 and the greater percentage of them will return to poverty because a high-school education has a very limited scope for success. GNI is about the only organization in the world that will take its children through UNIVERSITY or Vo-tech school so that every child will have a degree/trade in hand by which to make a decent living.
Our staff live on premises and we run a strong philosophy of loving, Christian family values since so many of our kids come from alcoholic homes, abusive/violent homes, missing/absent parents, abandoned parents..(the list goes on and on)...
As a result, in every community where we have a dream center, our kids top the community in academics, performing arts and sports.
This is the GNI difference. Please consider sponsorship! www.goodnewsindia.org or www.goodnewsindia.ca or

Together they earn less than $50 per month. The family house consists of mud walls with a straw roof. Duli's mother asked the director of our GNI Dream Center about Duli coming to live with us to get an education. Now she is thriving. She tells us her dream is to be a nurse. Please help us make her dream a reality….

On a busy street corner filled with noisy, dusty traffic, piles of garbage, wild dogs, wandering cows and smiling people, I waited... and I wondered! Would the young girl, Mamata, whom we had travelled half way around the world to visit, recognize us?
We had been her sponsor parents through Good News India (GNI) for the past six years and her photos graced our fridge alongside our other three children. We had sent packages and pictures, supported her at Christmas and for school.
Did we mean anything to her?
My heart broke—in a good way—when she climbed off the bus and immediately into my arms. She knew!! No words could describe the feeling we shared. Language did not matter. And, at that moment, a hug was all we needed to say.
We spent the whole day together. My husband Mike and I, and two other couples (Tom and Jane Snider and Jeremy and Lalitha Viinalass) from Hi-Way Church in Barrie, Ontario, Canada, took all the children from the Barrie Dream Centre on a picnic. We played, had lunch, ate ice cream - twice, held hands, took pictures, and at the end of the day hugged and cried.
But, we both new that life would never be the same again. And is hasn’t.
Our commitment to the work of GNI is stronger, our love for our sponsor daughter is deeper and our passion for the children in India is greater than it ever was.
Not everyone can meet their sponsored child, but please never doubt the connection you make with your cards, letters, emails and gifts from your country. Trust me... I saw it firsthand. And you know what? That street goes two ways.
I have a little girl in India who prays for me as much, maybe even more, than I do for her!!

“Diamonds are made under pressure; so are the kids of GNI. Diamonds are hidden away deep and need someone willing to dig deep to set them free. Diamonds need work before they are presented. Diamonds sparkle in the sunlight; so do the GNI kids. Diamonds are multi-faceted. So are the GNI kids. And diamonds are treasures. So are these kids. At GNI we have the opportunity to collect acres of diamonds and set them free.” www.goodnewsindia.org

Good News India is reaching out to some very primitive and violent tribal people deep in the interior of eastern India. Given to a life of violence, stealing and looting, this tribal group had no hope or future. GNI has established a strong Dream Center with over 100 kids and is slowly transforming a whole community. The Police Chief told us that “crime has dropped by 90% since Good News India went in…" Your contribution will help us change a whole region with the good news of the cross.
Leprosy is a "Death Sentence" in the lives of many people in Odisha. India is one of a handful of countries where leprosy is still prevalent. This dreadful and debilitating disease carries an enormous social and religious stigma. Most people are immune to the leprosy bacteria, which is both fluid and air borne. It is a disease that attacks the nerves at the tips of our extremities - fingers, toes, face, etc. Much of the disfigurement comes from secondary infections due to loss of feelings. Leprosy is fully curable in the early stages, but fear of total ostracism forces people to deny or hide their symptoms until the signs are obvious. L***rs and their families are driven out of their communities and must find a "L***r Colony" in order to live out the rest of their pitiless existence.
Jesus commanded his disciples in Matthew 10:8 to “heal the sick, cleanse the l***rs…” Good News India is doing just that. Six of our Dream Centers are reaching out to nearby l***rs. We are feeding almost 600 l***rs each day. We also take care of all the medical and personal needs.
Our "City of Refuge" L***r Colony at Ashroi Kendra cares for about 50 adults and their 150+ children. In 2010, a school was built especially for these darling children because the local community Schools would not enroll them due to fear and loathing. We continue to build more housing, toilets, bathing facilities etc, for the 200+ l***rs that we want to help in the near future. We have six full-time staff that tend to the physical, spiritual and medical needs of these dear people in this one colony. Among the 700 million destitute people of India, this group is truly at the bottom... far below even the untouchables and low-caste tribes. People refuse to come near them due to fear and prejudice. But L***rs are often mentioned in the New Testament, and Jesus touched many of them as he walked the dusty roads of Israel. Now you and I have an opportunity to bring His touch of hope and healing into the many L***r colonies scattered across Eastern India. The voice that once said...."I will; be thou clean" is still speaking through His people today. Your gift will enable us to bring love, hope, and healing into their lives.

Why do we sponsor children with Good News India? We all want to make a difference in our world, but how?
Good News India is the only ministry offering 24/7 care that culminates in a child acquiring a College or Vo-Tech degree. This shatters the cage of poverty that has bound them for generations. Hundreds of GNI Alumni, now successfully making a living will shout a loud AMEN! But this philosophy is expensive! However..... it is the only way.
