For the launch of PowerFoam, Carla crafted two looks on her model Nikki: a classic and retro 70’s look with beachy waves and a party bob. Says Ross, “I had so much fun working on this shoot. My beautiful coworker Nikki as a model, and the incredible new PowerFoam to tangle, tame and tousle her tresses!!!”

Pantone Reveals "Radiant Orchid"

In you've worked with a printer on the creation of the brochure at some point in time, chances are you've heard of Pantone and CMYK. Annually Pantone declares a particular color "Color of the Year" and this year Radiant Orchid 18-3224 has been chosen and it seems to be right on trend with the pastel, lavender, purple and reds trends we saw last year that continue into this year.

Says Pantone, "Radiant Orchid blooms with confidence and magical warmth that intrigues the eye and sparks the imagination. It is an expressive, creative and embracing purple—one that draws you in with its beguiling charm. A captivating harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid emanates great joy, love and health."

Twice a year the company hosts, in a European capital, a secret meeting of representatives from various nations' color standards groups. After two days of presentations and debate, they choose a color for the following year; for example, the color for summer 2013 was chosen in London in the spring of 2012. The color purportedly connects with the zeitgeist; for example the press release declaring Honeysuckle the color of 2011 said "In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues." The results of the meeting are published in Pantone View ($750), which fashion designers, florists, and many other consumer-oriented companies purchase to help guide their designs and planning for future products.
