Phoenix taqueria shop owner loses wife, friends to COVID-19; restaurant temporarily closed HEARTBREAKING: A taqueria shop owner in Phoenix not only lost his wife to COVID-19, but he lost his two best friends. And now, he's worried he'll lose his business, too.

Sadly, Lynn Moreno, an employee of Taqueria El Chino in Phoenix Arizona died on December 13, 2020. She was also the long-time partner of Ralph Ung, the restaurant owner. Lynn died while intubated in the ICU after a three-week battle with COVID. No family member, including Ralph, her partner of 20+ years was permitted to be present in the hospital during her final moments. Ralph’s losses are further compounded by the death of our mother in August 2020. His situation was made even more difficult after he tested positive for COVID several weeks ago, which prevented him from visiting Lynn in the hospital and working at Taqueria El Chino.

Despite the setbacks brought by the pandemic, Ralph, like so many restaurant owners across the country, continues to fight for his life-work and small business.
