Our Story
Phoenix World Outreach is a multi-cultural church located in central Phoenix. We believe in building families and teaching them to follow the practical principles for life that are found in the Word of God. PWO is a place where you can experience a family like atmosphere, dynamic worship and practical and applicable teaching.
Phoenix World Outreach originated out of Teen Challenge of Greater Phoenix as a ministry to the families of the men who were disciples in the program. People began coming from all over the city to worship at what was known as The Inner City Church.
The founding Pastor Angel Rosa had a passion to see people saved and began reaching the homeless community as well as the lost children of the inner city. Almost simultaneously Friday Night New Life and Phoenix Inner City Kids were birthed. Today they continue to partner with ministries all over the city doing what they were purposed to do.
In 2005 Pastor’s Maurice and Rose Chavez became the pastors of Phoenix Inner City Church. It was a new beginning and Pastor Chavez felt led to change the name to Phoenix World Outreach in 2006.Since that time PWO has become a well known name all over the city and to other organizations and churches.
In late 2014 yet another change took place. PWO merged with Iglesia Revive and became a bilingual church with a congregation of Spanish speaking people from various parts of Central and South America.
In 2019 PWO changed its name to better suit its purpose and is now called EQUIP CHURCH. It a multicultural church with a growing congregation of over 300 people we strive to Know God and Make Him Known.
