Once again the WH has issued a statement with the intent of expanding background checks to all but they still don’t seem to understand the terminology. From the VP: “Every year, thousands of unlicensed gun dealers (hold up…the very term dealer indicates a licensed party who already is required to run background checks for guns sold… so what you actually meant to say here is “thousands of private sellers”) sell tens of thousands of guns without a background check…”. So really what they want is to regulate the private party sales of guns across the board. They state some exceptions but next is how do you prove or how do they prove you are selling your personal collection and exempt from a dealer license? It’s going to get complicated quickly. Just to be clear, when selling guns you will be EITHER a dealer OR a private seller. Let’s correct the terminology for this ongoing conversation. Reach out to your local advocacy groups and give your support
