Tomorrow, to add a little extra fun to Cinco de Mayo, we will be offering complimentary Verde and Spicy Rojo Salsas and 3 Corn Tortillas for purchased plates and/or Meat By Weight. What should you do with said Salsas and Tortillas?!? Glad you asked. You can make delicious tacos with them like you see pictured. I would recommend Pulled Pork, Sliced Onions, Jalapeños and either Salsa. My favorite is to stuff the Tortilla with Jalapeños and dip it in our Cheddar Jalapeño Grits. You could go the route of a cherished former college and fill the Tortilla with our World Class Sliced Brisket and Ranch Beans. Jose would be proud. What will you make?!? We just heard news that our friend, Ed Mell, that we got to know the past 9 months has passed away. He is an integral part of our newest restaurant with the logo coming from his painting Full Speed Ahead. It makes us sad that he won’t see the restaurant open that he influenced and had some design input on. He was an incredibly interesting person who you immediately felt at ease with. As an AZ native, I have always been captivated by his work and ability to highlight the beauty of the southwest in a way that is completely unique. It was an honor to know him and be able to work with him. Our greatest condolences to his family, team and close friends. University test plate today was spot on awesome. The line was at most 10 to 16 deep while I was there today at 11. Also, we are looking for lots of people right now. University is looking for a great pit person and a front of house lead and cashier / middle. The pay is great, the food is incredible, the hours are superb for the restaurant industry and you get to take pride in what you do and deal with the most friendly guests ever.
