Today I’m excited to share our last Senior Sunday Share of 2024. I’ve loved sharing so many top notch young women and today’s share, Molly Fleury (the new Dr. Molly Fleury), is outstanding.

Molly graduated in May with her Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy. The last four years have been packed with her studies but also with the work and organizations she belonged to. Throughout her time in school, she worked in the inpatient pharmacy at Banner University Medical Center, tutored fellow pharmacy students, and was an active member of Rho Chi Academic Honor Society, the American Society of Health System Pharmacists, and the American College of Clinical Pharmacy.

As part of her graduate school experience she wanted to make sure she was really making a difference. In fact Molly chose to work in a hospital setting because she wanted to be part of a care team that treated the whole person, rather than just working behind the scenes or in retail pharmacy. This past July Dr. Fleury started her pharmacy residency at the Phoenix VA Health Care System. Once again she wanted to be in a hospital setting where she could learn and collaborate with passionate care teams. Though the hours are long, she’s already finding the work incredibly rewarding and continuing to learn from some of the best.

I asked Molly if she had any advice for young women following in her footsteps. Even though it sounds like 8 years of combined undergrad and grad school studies is a long time, she says it really did fly by! She encourages everyone to enjoy the time in college and post-grad studies .

Molly, I am wishing you the best with your residency and as you move forward into your career. I admire your dedication and determination to truly make the most impact in the community during your collegiate work. Dr. Fleury you have already made a difference and that will only continue to magnify.

It’s Sunday and today I’m excited to feature Kate Lum Lung, a recent graduate of Xavier College Preparatory. Kate loved her time at Xavier and made the most of it. Two of her favorite activities were playing tennis and editing the school newspaper.

As a freshman she jumped right in and got involved. She says it was her favorite year as she met her lifetime best friends and they always had so much fun! Outside of school Kate participated in NCL, was a Board of Visitor’s Flower Girl and worked at her mom’s store Cordially.

I asked Kate to share her best advice for other girls entering high school and her words are on point. “Be yourself! Everything happens for a reason. Use high school as a time to branch out and become who you are meant to be. Don’t hold on to things that no longer serve you.”

Looking ahead, Kate is excited to attend the University of Arizona and study Business Management and Creative Writing. She’s particularly excited about the opportunities to meet new people, study abroad, and continue uncovering her interests and where she can make the biggest impact.

Kate, I’m so excited for your future. It’s evident to me that you have your eye on the future and know how to balance enjoying your time in Tucson. With your dedication, drive and vibrant energy you will have an outstanding experience in college and make the most of it, just like your time at XCP. I wish you the best!

It’s Sunday and this week I’m thrilled to highlight Katie Kort, a recent graduate from the University of Texas at Austin! Katie is a native Phoenician and high school graduate of Chaparral. She attended UT Austin graduating with a bachelor’s degree in advertising.



Throughout her college years, Katie was actively involved on campus including the Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority and served as an exec member in the Runway of Dreams campus club. Her leadership and dedication to making a difference have truly shone through these roles. Katie told me about the Runway of Dreams and shared that it is an amazing organization that advocates for adaptable fashion for people with disabilities. Katie’s club partnered with Best Buddies and other community members to host a campus fashion show featuring adaptable pieces. Some big brands we all love like Zappos and Tommy Hilfiger showed their best adaptable fashion designs. Katie loved being part of it all and helping to pull it all together.



Here’s a few more highlights from her time at UT Austin.

A Memorable Moment: One of Katie’s favorite memories was the night their football team beat Alabama in September 2023. The whole school rushed the streets, paraded around campus, and celebrated all night long!

Words of Wisdom: Katie advises young women to “Enjoy and appreciate every moment. Say yes to everything! College goes by so fast, so make the most of it.”

Future Plans: Katie is currently looking for her first career job in Advertising and PR, specifically in digital marketing. She’s open to living where the best job opportunity is but would love if it ended up being in Chicago or NYC.

Exciting Times Ahead: She is most excited to live in a new city and meet new people!

Katie, I’m excited to see where you’ll land as I know you’ll be an incredible asset. You’ve got great energy, determination, an excellent education and an attitude that will help you achieve whatever you set your sights on. I can’t wait to see all the experiences you’ll have and amazing things you’ll achieve. Congratulations on your graduation!
