Grrrr Monday!

We have special guests staying with us, Big Ben and Barney, Flemish Giants weighing in at 16 and 18 pounds! Not sure if you can tell, but they are massive, and so sweet, too! 🐰

Macy was wanting some extra attention this morning, so we brought her behind the front desk so she can have a friend to be around. We tried to put her to work, but she preferred extra pets instead, which of course she received 🐶

This is Angel. Her name suits her as she is a sweetheart. Angel has a sad story and has lived an interesting life. At her young age of 11, she has a story to tell.

About 10 years ago, a Good Samaritan came to us asking for help with a homeless man and his dog, seeing if we can board her while her owner got some help. She was with us for about six months and when her dad was healthy again, got a home to live in and a job, we were thrilled to see her go home. So was she.

Fast forward to over a year ago… the Good Samaritan got a call from someone saying they found Angel (her microchip was registered to this person when he took her to the vet 10 years prior). She came back to boarding while we conducted an owner search. We had heard they were homeless again, but she was very much loved. However, this time, we couldn’t find her dad. Flyers were posted, other homeless people in the area where she was found were asked if they had seen him. Sadly, we later found out that he had passed away. Angel has been in boarding with us for over a year. Although she gets extremely spoiled here, walked daily and gets to swim everyday, it’s still not a home.

She has had a few people come to meet her, but she can be shy and unsure about strangers which makes it hard to find her a home. But as you can see, once she is comfortable with you, she is such a sweetheart and will make a great companion. She mostly sleeps, but if you show her a tennis ball, she will play fetch for hours. She loves to swim, too!

She would do best with no other pets or dogs that are old and will just co-exist with her. She’s always ever been the only pet living on the streets, so she doesn’t know any different. She would also do best in a home with no kids as she deserves all the attention in a quiet, calm home. She loves to go on hikes and long walks, but really just loves to snooze.
