Long time friend of mine and huge Black Potatoe supporter and festival patron Monica Bors Mansfield is helping a very cool friend Betsy Siggins chronicle her time in and around the folk revival scene. If you can help please do so, we need these people’s stories put down for history and to help tell the complete story of these different musical scenes from the 20th century. Especially those scenes that directly led to Black Potatoe even being a Thing. Thank you for helping out.

I recently posted an acoustic version of my song Maeve. Being it is Maeve’s birthday, I will re-post the studio version of the song. I love my Maeve, she is a good egg and we are very fortunate as a family to have her. Love ya Maevy. Sometime I even go with Maevy Gravy, or if I’m mad it’s “Mavis Staples”, followed by “I’ll take you there… if you don’t behave”. Which of course I would never do, but every now and then…. Just kidding, I love her to the moon and back. Tomorrow we will going to Santa Cruz Boardwalk, to hint vampires of course.

Here we go, week 4. This song is called "Brings You Down" and was on the Matt Angus Thing Album called "Political Pop" from 2004. Although this was not a coincidental... 2004 is also the year I ran for US House of Representatives in district 7 NJ. I was actually part of a US Congressional Debate, which I think I won. And if I may say so, I won in both substance and style. Yet, as an independent, I only got 2% of the vote. Thank you to those who voted for me. Peace and Love and see ya all next week.
