IBE® home care 101

✨Brush hair multiple times per day
Separate your rows. With your free hand keep pressure at the base of the extensions to avoid any unnecessary pulling. Start brushing at the bottom and work your way up.

✨Add serum to your extensions 2x per day
Hair extensions love moisture! Use a serum twice per day to help keep them hydrated! I recommend Signature Serum

✨Avoid sleeping with wet hair
Sleeping with extensions still wet will cause matting. Prevent this by making sure they are dry (especially at the base) be sure to braid the hair or secure in a low pony tail and sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase.

✨Wash hair 1-2 times per week
Always use professional sulfate and paraben free shampoo and conditioner, leave in conditioner and treat with a hydrating conditioning masque once per week.

✨Shower filter
Add a water filter to your shower head to filter out all the extra minerals from our hard water. Water softeners are great, but extensions need a little more filtration than what those can offer. Shower filters are easy to install and super affordable

3 tips for brushing your extensions

Separate Your Rows - Separating your rows before brushing will help ensure you get all tangles out of the hair. It also makes it easier to work with when you have multiple rows.

Start Brushing at Ends First - Brushing your hair starting from the ends and working your way up will ensure you get all your tangles out without the extra pulling that would happen if you started brushing from the top to bottom. If you brush starting from the top you can make the tangles tighter and harder to get out, or worse cause breakage to your extensions.

Use Free Hand To Hold Base of Row - Brushing over the top of your weft line can cause damage to your extensions and ultimately shorten the life of them. Using your free hand to hold the base of your row while brushing will help ensure your are not brushing over the top of your weft line, or causing any unnecessary pulling on the beads.

Hey IG friends 👋🏼 I have quite a few more followers since my last introduction two years ago and wanted to reintroduce myself.

My name is Kim, I’m the stylist behind all these hair photos and owner of The Parlour Hair Studio. I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 12 years now, specializing in blonding and dimensional color, as well as a certified stylist.

Here’s five things you may or may not know about me:

•My two favorite movies are Big Fish and What Dreams May Come. But I’m also a sucker for a good psychological thriller, or anything based on a true story.

•I’m blunt and outgoing with a splash of sarcasm, but don’t throw me in a large group where I don’t know anyone.. that’s where I’ll get shy and awkward. 🫠

•I’m thoroughly fascinated by folklore. Literally, can talk bout different folklores and legends for hours.

•A favorite guilty pleasure of mine is watching the Kardashians. It’s ok, you can make fun of me.

•On the weekends you’ll usually find me at home attempting to grow my own vegetables. In case you’re wondering, it hasn’t gone well.. but my indoor plants are THRIVING! So that’s a plus.

The odds were stacked against us for this new IBE® install.. my client came in last week wanting new hair for her vacation she is leaving for TODAY. And her hair order got lost in the mail over the weekend 😱

I was determined to make magic happen. I spent all day Sunday coloring extensions I had in my small stock down to match the colors we had ordered. And in the end, I would say we were successful in a near perfect match! This could not have happened without my client putting full trust in me and my ability to give her the hair of her dreams!
