Stoney Creek Homebrewers
A homebrew club serving brewers in Philadelphia and the suburbs! SCH is committed to sharing the pleasures of homebrewing with brewers and non-brewers alike.
For brewers, we offer a collection of battle-tested and award-winning recipes (extract and all-grain), tasting and evaluation by BJCP-approved judges, brewing and beer education, and social events for brewers and families alike. For non-brewers, we offer all of that in a slightly more tipsy state as you become “tasters” for the homebrewed awesomeness produced by our members. Our monthly meetings a

Setting up for Club Night at NHC 2022!
Tomorrow night! 7pm! Rec Room Phoenixville! Light American Lagers! Excitement! Duels! You!
For our education we’ll be surveying and tasting a range of light American lagers. Don’t miss it!
A Message from Bill, who has the meats, and apparently a love for Bud Light.
When: Saturday, May 21st, 2022
Location: 1047 Mowere Road. Phoenixville, PA 19460
Time: 1 PM - ???
Details: Founder’s Day 2022 will be hosted at House McMahon! We can fit about 8 cars in the driveway, but we also have a business across the street, Xpress Energy, with a parking lot as well as a Burger King diagonal from us with a substantial parking lot for folks to use.
We will be making pulled pork and burgers for the masses. It is a pot-luck event, so let’s see those kitchen skills at work!
The jockey box will be set up and we will have coolers with N/A beverages for those driving, not indulging, and those not quite of age yet. We do have a dog (Rogan) who loves people and children, but just a head’s up for those who may not love dogs (boooo). Our backyard is fenced in, so feel free to bring your furry friends.
My crude map below shows our house (white arrow), the BK parking lot and the Xpress Energy parking lot (orange arrows). (THE EMAIL HAS THE MAP PICTURE)
We are looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces as we share beers, laughs, and lots of smoked meats.
If you guys have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me (267-858-0060).
We had a wonderful time out at Manatawny Still Works and Sly Fox. Truly a unique and wonderful opportunity!
Next months social gathering is our group brew.
Put your hands together for another home brew club meeting!
This weeks education will be led by Mike Bury and focused on mead yeast. Spoiler alert, wear your big kid pants, there will be mead to taste!
As always, there will also be a duel, open tastings, general merriment and someone in the back corner sheepishly whispering to a safe person… “you know I don’t actually mind this *caugh caugh* IPA *caugh caugh*”
Great to have these cool people out for happy hour this month. Look forward to more info on our March event!
Anyone want to pre-game happy hour on Friday?

The moment when legends are made.
Congratulations Josh Weikert and to all of the other losers too.
Don’t miss the big showdown.
We'll be gathering for our monthly meeting this Thursday at 7pm for brewing education, tasting, duels, and general merriment.
Be there. Or don't. Those are literally your only two options.
Choose wisely. Or foolishly.
Just come, we want to see you.
Looking for blinded feedback on your beers or meads at an affordable price while helping to test out a new, stream-lined form of competition software? Were you not able to enter War of the Worts this year or are missing the 1st round of the National Homebrew Competition?
One & Done? - A Virtual Homebrew Comp - is a BJCP sanctioned competition using the Beer Awards Platform. All beer and mead styles are accepted and will be judged by April 17th. $4/entry with a cap of 200 entries for the competition. Medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Judging will be conducted VIRTUALLY only and the scoresheets are filled out directly through the software.
Brian Pylant (BJCP National, Mead certified) and myself (BJCP Grand Master II, Mead certified) are using this opportunity to see what the software can do and how it could help out our local homebrew competitions. So even if you don't want to enter any entries and are a judge, please consider volunteering to help shape the future.

Dump the Pump: Newton, Pascal, Bernoulli, and Homebrewing
Beer Simple Blog takes on pumps and fluid transfers in brewing. No pump, no brew stands, no ladders...
beer-simple.com Physics is your friend, and can save you money on homebrewing equipment. I'm no enemy of Chugger or March, but let's face it: most brewers don't need a pump if they can employ some basic brew system design advice to let physics do the work for them! And here's the thing: principles of physics will…
