A few local agencies are sharing this reminder, which applies to all of us. Do not call 911 to storm damage to your property or report power outages. 911 operators can't do anything about it and will be pretty busy trying to get help to people in danger.

Call 911 if you have a life-threatening emergency and you need assistance.

Report power outages to your power utility.
It's a good idea to limit non-emergency calls in general. Save your battery. Be sure to keep calls brief to minimize any network congestion. Wait at least 10 seconds before redialing a call.
