Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of Senior Correctional Police Officer Ryhime Kawah, a dedicated member of the NJDOC assigned to Garden State Correctional Facility. Let's come together to support his family during this difficult time. 🙏💙

Today, 4Blue NJ continued to Honor, Support, and Celebrate the Correctional Police Officers of New Jersey Department of Corrections. It was truly a privilege to be present to be at the 2024 Correction Officer Day & Departmental Service Awards Ceremony 💙💛

Annually on July 30th, NJ celebrates Corrections Officer Day. On this day, we express our gratitude for the dedication, sacrifice, and tremendous work, that Corrections Officers throughout the State of NJ provide. It is also a day we remember those who have fallen, especially Officer Frederick W. Baker 🖤💙🖤

To all Corrections Officers, 4Blue NJ Thanks You for your service. And to Our 4BlueNJ Peers, thank you to each one of you, as you have chosen to continue supporting your brothers and sisters in Blue, even after your years of service behind the walls have ended.

Corrections Officer Day celebrates the resolute service of New Jersey’s correctional police officers. The day is a reminder of the courage and dignity our custody staff possesses and pays homage to revered Officer Fred Baker, who lost his life in the line of duty on July 30, 1997. Correctional police officers are the frontline staff members who play an integral role in the criminal justice system, dedicating their careers to advancing public safety.

The NJDOC thanks our law enforcement staff for their continued service to the Department, their communities, and the State of New Jersey. We are proud of our officers and their commitment to serve with honor and protect with pride.

We Will Always Remember Officer Frederick W. Baker. May he Rest In Eternal Peace.

It's with a heavy heart that New Jersey Department of Corrections announces the passing of South Woods State Prison Correctional Police Sergeant Andre Horsey.

CPS Horsey began his career with the NJDOC in June of 2007. He was subsequently promoted to Sgt. in September of 2018.

CPS Horsey was well liked by his peers and an asset to the NJ Department of Corrections.

Our thoughts and prayers are with his fiancé' and family.
