Ace has recently returned home from sheep herding school. (Yup, it’s a real thing). He spent quality time with Rachel at @onthelambherding. High recommend, 14/10. Honestly, I was a little afraid Ace wouldn’t want to come home.
We are learning to work as a team, and we’re both making mistakes and improving.
Nevertheless, the sheep are moved safely. They’re baffled by this new method, but compliant and well behaved. Best of all everyone remains calm and relatively stress-free.
Except for me. I’m now doing the mental gymnastics of controlling a high-speed assistant, 30+ sheep, and trying to remember commands that really still don’t make sense.
But I get to unironically say “That’ll do, Ace, that’ll do” and feel like Farmer Hogget at the end of Babe. Makes all the struggles worth it.
