This month's 'spotlight' comes from right here in the 'Burgh 🖤💛

After fostering this silly little pup, Jack's mom knew they were meant to be together, and he's always been such a wonderful companion! 🐶

When they found out he was sick with cancer, they were relieved to have caught it early, and even more relieved to receive a positive prognosis after treatment. Jack's mom had always been his greatest advocate, but she needed financial support when it came to the high cost of his surgery and treatment 🐾

The Bow Wow Buddies Foundation® was happy to give Jack a grant for his medical care, and it's already been reported that he's healed up extremely well after surgery! 🐕

Socialization is key to a happy, well-adjusted puppy! 🐶✨

Positive exposure to people, animals, sounds, locations, and situations is the foundation of your puppy's growth journey, providing them with context for new experiences 🌟

Here's how to socialize your puppy:
Use treats, play, objects, and praise for positive reinforcement when introducing them to new people, places, sounds, and animals.

Set socialization objectives:
Meet new people, including children, every week. Monitor interactions for safety and be sure to pair these interactions with treats and praise to build a positive association.

Don't forget about vaccinated, friendly dogs! Camp is ideal for this, with behavioral evaluations, vaccinated dogs, and supervised play 🐾

Explore new locations together! Introduce your puppy to environments that you frequent, considering your lifestyle even as they grow 🌳

Where to socialize your puppy? Camp is perfect for continued safe socialization with new pups and Camp Counselors! Dogs are vaccinated, evaluated, and separated by size 🐶

Also, try parks, trails, dog-friendly stores, and restaurant patios. Positive experiences are key! ❤️

And remember safety! Before full vaccination, be sure to take precautions. Avoid dogs with unknown vaccination status and keep your puppy off grass in public spaces. Opt for carrying or using a cart in dog-friendly stores.

🐕 SOCIALIZE: Pups are social animals and get enrichment from spending time with people and other pups. At Camp, your fur baby has supervised play time with other pup-friendly pups to ensure they have positive and safe interactions.

🐕 EXERCISE: Regular exercise keeps your fur baby healthy, agile, and limber. It can also help reduce or alleviate common behavior problems such as digging, excessive barking, chewing, and hyperactivity.

🐕 IMMUNIZE: It's a requirement for all pups at Camp to be up-to-date on their CORE and Bordetella vaccinations. Not only do vaccines protect your pup’s health, but you can also have peace of mind that the pups they're playing with at Camp are up-to-date on their vaccines as well.
