Caught a beautiful sunset tonight at our West Hills location ๐
June is World Infertility Awareness Month. According to the World Health Organization, 1 in 6 adults worldwide are affected by infertility, and yet the experience can feel lonely and isolating. Infertility and mental health are deeply intertwined, as adults affected by infertility often also struggle with depression, anxiety, and other complex emotions. This monthโand year-roundโwe hold space for you if youโre struggling with infertility, and we want you to know that all of your emotions and experiences are important and valid.
โWomen often endure infertility, pregnancy, infant loss, miscarriages and stillbirths in isolation, because while sadness is a socially palatable response to these often life-altering events, rage, frustration, jealousy and guilt are not.โ โ Soraya Chemaly, Rage Becomes Her: The Power of Womenโs Anger

Juneteenth marks the emancipation of slaves in the United States. On this day, we look back and celebrate the countryโs progress toward racial justice, but we also look ahead and renew our ongoing commitment to antiracism in our interactions, in our communities, and in our world.

Today, we honor not only the brave individuals who lost their lives but also the families who grieve the loss of their loved ones. To the children who face empty seats at the dinner table, your resilience is deeply appreciated. To the mothers and fathers who navigate parenting alone, your strength is recognized. To the spouses who hold the fort and keep the love alive through holidays and milestones, your courage does not go unnoticed.
We acknowledge that these sacrifices are often not a choice but a reality that you face with unwavering resolve. Your endurance and support are the backbone of those who protect our freedoms. While words may never fully capture the depth of your experiences, please know that your contributions and sacrifices are seen and deeply respected.

National Child Abuse Prevention Month
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Blue pinwheels have become the symbol for the month, representing hope for a better future for children who have suffered abuse. Protecting children is a community effort, one that requires advocacy and attention in many areas--homes and neighborhoods, schools, the judicial system, religious organizations, athletics, etc. Because we know the effects of trauma extend far beyond childhood, the importance of preventing child abuse cannot be overstated.
In Pennsylvania, anyone can report child abuse by calling Childline at 1-800-932-0313.
The National Child Abuse Hotline is also available 24/7 with trained crisis counselors available to provide individualized resources and guidance: https://www.childhelphotline.org/
A athlete-specific abuse hotline called Courage First is now available as well: https://www.athletehelpline.org/
