Rolling out the vintage carpet 😍. It’s a muted pattern and neutral without being boring. Now I can finally get rid of the ugly brown carpet on our staircase. I just have to emotionally and physically prepare myself for the dust and the amount of nails & staples I will have to pull out. Ever remove wall to wall carpet? It’s no fun. September was a lot! I wallpapered my office, started working on concept design and space planning for a whole home remodel, wrapped up the final details and procurement stage for an upcoming basement remodel, started a mini kitchen makeover for repeat clients, did a walkthrough for a nursery project for repeat clients, worked on a new color palette for the exterior of a Tudor home, did a virtual consultation with a new client, and begun planning for the wreath workshops I am going to teach this Holiday season. Coming up in early October is demo day for our “Basement with a View”, final design presentation for a bed & bath remodel in Coraopolis, and our photo shoot with The Scout Guide! The Fall season is shaping up to be *quite* busy but if you have a decorating project you need help with, please reach out. Too good not to share again… the coolest basement laundry room I’ve ever seen. We finished this project a year ago and it’s still one of my favorite spaces…. Would you believe we accomplished this with very little demo? We changed the cabinet door & drawer fronts, the tile backsplash, the pendant lighting, the faucets, and hardware. We kept the cabinet boxes, the flooring, the countertops, the sink, and all the appliances. And of course, painting the room white helped too. The fireplace also got a mini makeover… we lime-washed the brick and replaced the bulky mantle. Design by @dahlhaushome

We just need an oil painting and we’re good to go 👩‍🎨😄. I’m working on a design scheme for a principal en suite bathroom and I am really loving this combination of deep turquoise with coral and antique gold, complimented by the marble. It’s classic but with a twist.
