So much to say here about activity analysis in semi-structured play as an OT! Just a few notes to take in—look at the body awareness, the praxis, the motor control and the joy! ❤️

Let love grow. 💦🌸🌻🌺🌼🪻🌱

𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞.
Fueling their mind.
Watering their thoughts.
Showing them grace and asking for forgiveness when we’ve fallen short.

𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞.
Building healthy relationships.
Teaching them manners.
Showing them the power of kindness.

𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞.
Using words that honor.
Speaking life into our situations.
Refusing to give up when the going gets tough.

𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞.
Prioritizing the right things.
Making memories in the mundane.
Feeling our emotions rather than bottling them up.

𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐨𝐦𝐞.
Being there for them.
Opening the lines of communication.
Getting to know them more each and every day.

And each and every day, I pray that home will be a place they remember as learning, laughing, growing, forgiving, and setting a strong foundation for many years to come.

New Study Suggests Higher Amounts of Intervention May Not Be More Helpful for Children on the Autism Spectrum | Newsroom 07/18/2024

The first author of this meta-analysis shares “…We recommend that practitioners consider what amount of intervention would be developmentally appropriate for the child and supportive to the family.” I’ve always said—allowing children to lead rich and full lives with their families ❤️, along with matched and reasonable intensity of interventions leads to occupational harmony.

New Study Suggests Higher Amounts of Intervention May Not Be More Helpful for Children on the Autism Spectrum | Newsroom After a thorough systematic analysis, Micheal Sandbank, PhD, at the UNC School of Medicine and other researchers across the United States found that evidence was lacking that higher intensity interventions provided increased benefits for young autistic children.
