We are supporters of the bicycling community and infrastructure in Pittsburgh. On March 26, 2024, James Mills lost his life bicycling less than a block from our office. Ghost Bikes, a movement almost two decades old, provides street-side memorials to individuals who died while cycling. At the corner of Liberty Avenue and Stanwix Street, this is the ghost bike dedicated to Mills.

Our VP Content Production, John Craig, blended 36 exposures into one image to reveal the stillness of a single bike against the speed and volume of car traffic. Humans make mistakes, but appropriate and suitable cycling planning & infrastructure can eliminate loss of life from them.

Who's 🆕 at Fifth Influence? Our summer intern, Mike Pernice! Mike is a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh where he is pursuing a dual master's degree, MBA and MS in Marketing Science. 🎓 Outside of his academic pursuits, he's a budding entrepreneur, building a start-up focusing on the development of an influencer ERP system. 📈 Additionally, Mike is stepping up as the President of the American Marketing Association's Pittsburgh Chapter in July. When he's not working, volunteering, or in class, he enjoys traveling 🛩️ and indulging in the finest cuisines 🥖 and drinks 🍷 with his wife Michelle.

Over the last several years, we’ve collaborated with the MarketSpace Agency on a few client engagements. We thoroughly enjoy working with them. So much so that we got together with a handful of their team members to chat and laugh a bit over coffee at Generoasta Coffee Co. Congratulations to our client, incumbent Democrat Abigail Salisbury, on her overwhelming victory last night in Pennsylvania’s Democratic primary election. It is the first of two elections to retain her seat in the PA House of Representatives for District 34. The district comprises the communities of Braddock, Braddock Hills, Chalfant, Churchill, East Pittsburgh, Edgewood, Forest Hills, North Braddock, divisions of two eastern wards of the City of Pittsburgh, Rankin, Swissvale, Wilkins Township, and Wilkinsburg.

Fifth Influence’s responsibilities included:
- Website development & management,
- Digital advertising strategy & campaign management inclusive of Meta: Facebook & Instagram, Google Ads, and over-the-internet television (OTT),
- Email remarketing,
- Direct mail and literature, and
- Creative production of all deliverables inclusive of shooting original photography & video and video post-production.

The digital advertising program was particularly influential knowing the opponent outspent Abigail two-to-one. Quantitively & qualitatively it is clear that Rep. Salisbury’s presence in digital and social media across the district during the campaign was prolific.

It was a complete team effort at Fifth Influence on Abigail’s campaign with:

- Tanya Posavatz leading media and project management
- John Craig spearheading video production
- Billy Jo Molinari steering and executing design
- George Potts providing media direction, creative direction, web development, and writing copy, and
- Grant Regan servicing the campaign day-to-day, offering political campaign insights and guidance, collaborating across the team, and doing many other assignments.

Grant’s operational political campaign knowledge and experience was especially valuable to the Salisbury for PA campaign.

Two team members at Fifth Influence are Duquesne University alumni, Sean Sliben and George Potts. Both are proud of the vibrancy and growth of their alma mater over the last several years:
- Renovation of the old A.J. Palumbo Center to the new UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse, a.k.a. “The Coop”,
- Construction of a new 12-story student apartment building next to the University’s Power Center, and the
- Opening of the new College of Medicine.
Exciting things are happening on The Bluff thanks to University President Ken Gormley and his team. We love Sean and George’s enthusiasm about these developments and their passion for Duquesne. Go Dukes!

You'll find our content creator is always up for creating something new. When not creating content for our clients, you can find John in the kitchen making homemade pizza, sauce, & dough from scratch.

At Fifth Influence, we work with political candidates, nonprofits, and purpose-driven businesses which present many unique opportunities for creative exploration. For example, this week we shot at the Pittsburgh Zoo and collaborated with their penguins. 🐧

Who's 🆕 at Fifth Influence? Meet our new intern, Lucille Chabanne! Lucille joins us from Bordeaux, France 🇫🇷, where she is a first year Master's student at EFAP in the Advertising Strategy and Creative Communications program. Ooh la la! When she's not at the office, she enjoys playing sports from soccer (sorry - 'le foot') ⚽️ to basketball 🏀 to anything with a racket 🎾, and going out with friends🍷.
