Meet our newest addition! Some wonderful humans found a momma and 7 kittens under their porch during construction. From start to finish, these people stepped up for this little family by reaching out for help, planning, trapping, and transporting these kiddos to us. They managed to trap this fifth kitten just before momma and the last two kittens left the area. They will continue to keep their eyes open for the momma and kittens, but we’re just grateful for these wonderful humans who stepped up to help us help these kittens! Today, we pulled 33 cats and kittens from a trailer in Butler. 11 of them were healthy enough to be spayed/neutered on Fix'n Wag'n’s mobile unit that they graciously allowed us to take up to the site. All kitties will be going into foster with us and Dr. Theo. We cannot thank Dr. Theo and Sammy (FW’s practice manager) enough for coming up with us today and helping us accomplish this! This couple moved into a trailer about 2 years ago, and unfortunately their females escaped and became pregnant. Fast forward 2 years, and they were overwhelmed and didn’t know what to do. Fortunately, they reached out to us and we were able to partner with Fix’n Wag’n to get this situation addressed. Thankfully, all kitties tested FeLV/FIV negative, but many are anemic due to a flea infestation, are suffering from severe URIs + pneumonia, and smell of coccidia. Unfortunately, we are in fading kitten procotol for a few of the more worse off kittens. Please keep us in your thoughts over the coming days as we try to turn things around for these kiddos. ✨ Reunited and it feels so good! ✨ We decided to reintroduce momma (Tootsie Roll) and her babies (Milky Way, Starburst, Twizzler, Jolly Rancher, and Kit Kat) tonight. It went so well!! Momma immediately accepted them back, started purring, and began the work of cleaning them up. Sadly, Tootsie’s milk has been minimal since she gave birth, and now it’s completely dried up. Thankfully, the kittens have really taken to syringe feeding. We will continue to bottle feed the babies while allowing momma to do the rest of the mothering. It feels so good to have this little family together again!! Thank you to everyone who has been following and supporting these little nuggets. 😻❤️
