We lost 2 kittens very unexpectedly today. They were both in different foster homes and from separate litters.
We are trying our best but kitten season is already dragging us down. These unexpected losses were healthy kittens less than 12 hrs ago. They may have had an underlying issue.
This is one of the most difficult things in rescue. When things seem to be going okay and then you’re torn down again and again.
Rest easy little angels.

We need your help.
We are currently starting a trapping project in Fayette. We have pulled 11 kittens so far. We have several kittens needing eye enucleations and several needing hernia repairs.
We are also starting the TNR process on 10+ cats. This is going to be EXPENSIVE. We are looking at ~$3,500 for basic medical care. If you are able to help in anyway we appreciate it!!

Meet our newest addition! Some wonderful humans found a momma and 7 kittens under their porch during construction. From start to finish, these people stepped up for this little family by reaching out for help, planning, trapping, and transporting these kiddos to us. They managed to trap this fifth kitten just before momma and the last two kittens left the area. They will continue to keep their eyes open for the momma and kittens, but we’re just grateful for these wonderful humans who stepped up to help us help these kittens!

As we enter kitten season, here is your reminder: not all huge abdomens are pregnancies! This kitty was thought to be pregnant, but was actually a pyometra weighing 1/3 her body weight! 6 pound kitty and a 2 pound pyo.
