Learning more about the 12th annual Dance Africa event This weekend, the Legacy Arts Project is bringing an event full of culture and community to the New Hazlett Theater. We learned more about the upcoming Dance Africa event from Erin Perry and Minnie Jones Boose.

Aubrey Luttrell is so very humble and talented! She has a long list of accomplishments in the Arts world and this is not her first time choreographing a piece for Dance Africa Pittsburgh. We keep bringing her back because of her versatility and imaginative and her love of the youth is beautiful. Her piece is entitled “Tangled” and it goes along with the theme for this years Dance Africa “Heart to Heart” and that’s all ima say. Get your tickets, they will sell out!

Dr. Kyaien Conner has been doing traditional West African Dance since the tender age of 6 but found her true identity as a West African Dancer when she was introduced to Senegalese Dance. Not only is Kya a beautiful person inside and out she is also an amazing dancer and choreographer. Her piece “Sama Khol” which means My heart in Wolof, is going to WOW the audience in this years Dance Africa Pittsburgh “Heart to Heart” she has one of the larger dance ensembles in the show and if you like to see this performance RUN and get your tickets NOW!!
