It is with a deeply sorrowful heart that I must report that my friend, my employee, and former band mate Paul Rice passed away suddenly this evening. Words can’t describe how I feel. A gentler soul has never walked this earth. He played with many of you and inspired many others. My heart is broken. I’m going to miss him so much. We will post updates as we get them. So sad.

So this is pretty cool. We’ve recently become Stringjoy string dealers and are really digging these strings. Great sound, short break in time, and great tuning stability. Had this guitar come in the other day. Les Paul Recording guitar. Needed a setup, some restoration and…”Can you check the electronics?” Low impedance stacked humbuckers, pickup selector, three position tone switch, (which actually routes the signal in different ways), and an 11 position rotary “decade” k**b, (which has nothing to do with history) that engages a series of tone shaping components. Pretty cool. Heaviest bass I ever played was a Les Paul recording bass. You’ll want to sit with this, too!

We see some really cool instruments from time to time and this is one of them! In for repair - 1966 Fender Mustang. If this guitar could talk…well maybe it’s better that it can’t! Pure relic treatment caused by time and lifestyle- so cool!

So sorry and shocked to hear today of Don Harris’s passing. Connected with Don late last week to supplement his gear for the Williams class reunion. Always had time for connecting with some conversation. So sad. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cheryl and all his many friends and former band mates.

Just a bit of a reality check. The pandemic’s effect on local business is still ongoing. Allen Heights Veterinary Hospital will be closing at the end of July because of economic pressures and a continuing shortage of willing and qualified workers. What a shame to lose yet another local business. Small business is so important to the character and economic diversity of our town. Thankfully, we were able to fill the position we had open, but the economic pressure on our store continues.

Restrings, setups, pickup replacements, etc. will be part of your everyday work. Hours are somewhat flexible but a good work ethic and the ability to fit in with the team are essential. Will train. At the beginning, none of us could have known that it would have lasted as long as it has. It has been a very difficult time for the store as well.
