This Saturday, 10/26 is National Prescription Drug Take Back Day. From 10-1, the Pittsfield Police Department is joining forces with the DEA, as well as other nearby communities by collecting as many unused prescriptions as possible.
Do you have a loved one who recently passed, a close friend, or maybe you have some expired prescriptions you haven't gotten rid of? Leaving these unused pills around creates an unintentional opportunity for someone to find them and ingest them. Feel free to stop by the PPD station located at 39 Allen Street to drop off any unwanted medications.
If you aren't able to get to the police station on Saturday, we are open 24/7 for any Pittsfield resident to drug those unused drugs off at the front lobby. Please, no sharps or liquids.
In preparation for the Halloween Parade, the following roads will be closed beginning at 5:00pm:
Tyler Street from First Street to Pine Street
Smith Street from Tyler Street to Burbank Street
Burbank Street from First Street to Morningside School
Second Street from Orchard to Burbank Street
The remainder of the route, Tyler Street from Pine Street to Woodlawn Avenue and the Woodlawn Ave bridge will be closed at 6:30 pm.
Parking will be prohibited on these streets after 5:00pm.
Don’t wait to the last minute and sign up! (Trip will be cancel if not enough signup🥺)
