Today 90 years ago was born Robert A. Moog .A day like today was born in New York Robert A. Moog, co creator of the practical version of the synthesizer, electronic musical instrument designed to produce artificially generated sounds. The synthesizer sounds created by direct manipulation of an electric current, the manipulation of an analog or digital waveform and / or by manipulating discrete values using software based synthesizers. In the March 1974 Popular Mechanics magazine asserts that it is possible to create more than seven million different sounds on a synthesizer and to play them all, a human would have to live 210 years.

The BCC Music program is deeply saddened by the passing of BCC music alum Chris Hairston. We are sure he is laying down some great grooves—see you on the other side. K111 still echoes with your great drumming.
Struggling with meter?
Why did the conductor lose the orchestra's sheet music?
Because they were too busy conducting the Overture to Mozart's Great Goose Chase – OMG, Get the Full Orchestra!

Some from the great Duke Ellington!
A Ukrainian band took a 100 year old vintage grand piano and brought it back to life in the most spectacular way. The creative musicians didn't just fix the piano up, they added 20 instruments to the body of the instrument that are all playable with the keys. This genius piece of engineering allows the pianist to create a mini-orchestra sound that is truly unique. Watch a video of this incredible instrument being played on The Music Man in comments below 👇
