Chair massage is great, except when it's not 🤷♀️
There’s a time to do Chair Massage and a time to use other marketing strategies.
✨So, when should you be offering chair massage?
When it doesn’t take your attention away from meeting people, I would recommend chair massage for smaller events where everyone who wants to will take a turn, at events where you can be a regular fixture, like a summer concert series that you attend each week or the farmers market, and of course when you are being paid!
✨And, when is it not such a good time to offer chair massage?
At a large event like a business expo, you might miss out on valuable networking while you are focused on the person in the chair, a giveaway to build your email list would probably be a better option.
Also, I wouldn’t recommend free chair massage events if you are as busy as you want to be at your office, consider donating a gift card instead. And, of course, only do free chair massages for events where your IDEAL clients will be! If you like working with moms, maybe the Ironman race isn’t the right fit. 😉
✨Even though it's not great in every situation, I LOVE chair massage, here's why:
I have always loved leaving the office for chair/onsite massage. The change of scenery is refreshing.
It's different enough than a "regular" table massage that it feels fun and challenging.
The faster pace and change of environment suit me.
It's a great way to network and meet new people.
It's a great way to introduce people to massage without the barriers of price/getting naked/trusting a new person.
Low overhead!
Very little to no LAUNDRY.
Wishing you success!
Gael

“The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of resistance exercise in comparison with those of [trapezius massage] on chronic neck pain (CNP) to provide useful clinical guidelines for reducing pain or increasing cervical range of motion (ROM), upper trapezius tone, disability level, and quality of life (QOL).” https://bit.ly/3gntb19
