Thistle Lodge 512 held its annual clambake. Lafratte’s catering once again, provided excellent food and its delivery service.
Good companionship, some dirty bingo antics, and gorgeous weather made for a great day.

Thistle Lodge 512 attended the Dunmore High school graduation event on Thursday.
We were proud to present the 27th Christine M.Barth scholarship. This $1000 award was presented to Mia Watters, who not only had outstanding school achievement results, but also completed and won the essay competition .

Thistle Lodge 512 attended the “Fish for the fallen” ceremony held by the Patriots Cove association.
Patriots Cove arrange fishing, hunting and outdoor activities, for the war torn heroes of American military campaigns.
Thistle donated this DR trimmer to help Patriots Cove maintain their Noxen, PA facility that provides a trout stream, hunting blinds and accommodation and catering for our vets.
Thanks to Jeff Swire and his crew in giving us their hospitality.

It’s always a great night to be an Odd Fellow, but this Monday especially. The Second and Third Degrees were recently conferred on 10 new Brothers. We wouldn’t have been able to do this without the help of Past Grands from Thistle 512, Osage 712, Freedom 88, Canawacta 207 and Tunkhannock 699 as well as Past Grand Master McHugh and Deputy Grand Master Lautenschlager We eagerly look forward to them advancing in the order and bringing future leadership and creative ideas to help grow our jurisdiction.
Attended the Birdies Fore Brielle event yesterday. Thistle # 512 supported this young lady’s parents, and yesterday her life and brief time on our earth was celebrated.
Large turn out, morning golf event, great food, door prizes + live band made this a great experience.
Thistle Lodge is helping our community in many ways.
Thistle Lodge held its annual Clam Bake yesterday., and had several other Lodges join in our event.
Good food, several drawings and prizes, good weather ( until 05:00 pm) and above all Odd Fellow brotherhood made this a great success.

Great day tomorrow to support Patriots Cove who mentor and support veterans looking for help and closure on their physical and mental issues.
Thistle recently donated to Jeff Swire who created Patriot Cove, and wish them well.

Thistle Lodge 512 recently donated a Blackstone grill to the Sawyer Dymond bingo fundraiser event. Proceeds from this event will help Sawyer, and relatives help rebuild their lives.
Sawyer lost both his parents, and all their belongings in a fire.
Our Lodge will always be prepared to help and assist needy causes in our community.
Thistle Lodge 512 wanted to display some of its many historical costumes, and regalia. These costumes and accessories are priceless in their age, exquisite in the needle craft and materials, that these days, would be hard to manufacture again.

Brothers from Thistle 512 attended the Osage 712 Lodge bingo night at the Dallas Legion Post last night.
Great food, beverages, draw prizes, raffle baskets, 50/50 drawings and last but not least “BINGO” .
Thanks to the Osage brothers who worked hard, to make people feel welcome and sure to attend their next bingo night.
Thistle Lodge will be hosting its 2023 Annual Clam Bake on July 29th at the Lions Pavilion, 200 Clarks Lane, Plains.
Among the many attractions will be a Henry “Golden Boy” lever action rifle, in .22 caliber.
This will be raffled off by the Osage Lodge brothers, who will be attending our Clam Bake.
Great food, beverages, desserts and Odd Fellow hospitality.
Freedom given to us by great suffering and the final sacrifice.

Thistle Lodge 512 will soon be awarding a $500 check to the Patriots Cove organization.
Located in Noxen, PA this organization provides our noble veterans, the chance to take part in many outdoor activities. This provides both physical and therapeutic relief for many of the veterans, that endured great distress in their postings.
Jeff Swire leads this fine organization, and we are hoping that Jeff could soon visit our Lodge, receive our donation and outline the Patriot Cove ambitions.
The 2023 Thistle Lodge 512 Christine Barth Scholarship Award, was presented to Cadance Lewis today. Cadence attended the Dunmore High School, and was voted unanimously our award winner.
We wish Cadence a great college experience, and all her career wishes come true.

The winner of the 2023 Christine Barth scholastic scholarship award, donated by Thistle Lodge 512 is Cadence Lewis, who attends the Dunmore High School.
Congratulations to this gifted scholar, who deservedly earned first place, among 13 entrants in our voting.
Thistle Lodge 512 will soon be awarding its yearly Christine Barth Scholarsip to a rewarding student.
This year thirteen students submitted their school achievements, and their essay on how to react to the climate changes.
The scholarship was established in memory of Christine Barth, whose father Ed Barth was a member of Thistle Lodge, and is awarded based on grade point average, a written essay, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities, and community service. It is presented annually to a deserving student who resides in Dunmore. During the past years, over $50,000 in scholarship awards has been awarded, through the scholarship has been given to students to further their education.
Our neighbors at 59 South Main Street are holding their annual Letter Carrier Canned Goods Drive on Saturday.
Volunteers are needed to sort and separate the food items.
Great cause and a great help to the areas needy families.

It’s with great sadness that Thistle Lodge 512 announces the passing of Lodge Brother Fran Ankenbrand.
Fran was a compassionate and vital member of both the Thistle Lodge, and also the Meals On Wheels organization.
Fran delivered the meals to needy members of the local community, for years.
Also enjoyed riding his motorbike in various clubs.
We will sorely miss Fran.

Congratulations to Thistle 512 brother Thomas Orth, on reaching his 25th year of Odd Fellowship.
Also Thistle lodge was included on the recent Odd Fellow magazine, for our visits to the Osage and Askam lodges on the recent visit by our Grand Master.
Odd Fellowship has come a long way from its founding traditions. Some of these pictures, show outfits and devices, that were employed in earlier Lodge ceremonies.
Thistle Lodge 512 is visiting the Osage Lodge 712 on Wednesday, April 26th.
Lodge meeting time is 07:30pm.
