This week I’ve had multiple conversations with many agents about the difficulties we sometimes encounter when working through a transaction. While many transactions are smooth and close without any strain, there are those that are just hard. Some are so hard we just want to quit altogether. In those cases, it’s the personalities that often derail teamwork when they clash. As agents, we get the brunt of it as we carry the burden of trying to reach a successful closing and we often are the ones who get an earful and sometimes are even verbally attacked by our own clients.

After 20+ years in the business and 100s of transactions, it happens. It just does.

Realtors, when it does happen to you (and it will), do not let one conversation, one difficult client, one hurtful event keep you from doing an amazing job. You must not let a pebble in your shoe become a boulder on your pathway that keeps you from moving forward. Take off your shoe, remove the pebble and move on. Stay strong.

For others facing difficult situations, stay strong. We are shaped most in our times of difficulty. May difficult times make you more kind, more gracious, more loving and not angry, mean, and most of all NOT hopeless.

Do not face your tough times alone. Find someone that you trust that you can share your hurt and your pain with so that they can help you carry the burden.
