SUPPORT YOUR REALTOR!! There is a lot of talk in the news about real estate agent commissions. We LOVE what we do and we do it because we LOVE helping people but there is almost always a huge misconception on what we do and how we get paid. It's not a secret so here ya go...đ
The average FULL TIME REALTORâS earnings last year was $31,900 @ 40+ hours a week. (Notice I wrote full time 40+ hours not 0-20 hours a week) which is well below the living wage. As a REALTOR we do not get paid an hourly wage or salary and we only get paid if we sell a home and it closes. We can only get paid by broker to broker. As an agent we could work with someone days, weeks, months, or years with no guarantee of a sale ever.
Essentially we wake up each day unemployed, going on job Interviews, and we deal with constant rejection. We dedicate time away from family, use our time, gas, pay for babysitters, miss dinner and weekends and rarely take vacations. We are on 24/7! We constantly need to be on, or we could miss an opportunity. Once we do close a home, half goes to the other person's agent from the remaining half. We have lots of upfront expenses that must be paid out before we even get paid:
Broker Splits and Fees
Office rent and utilities
MLS Fees
NAR Fees
Local Association Fees
E&O Business Insurance
Extended Auto Insurance
Self-Employment Tax
State Licensing Fees
Advertising Fees
Showing Service Fees
Website Fees
Assistant's Salaries
Showing partners
Transaction coordinator
Yard Signs
Photographers
Videographers
Office Supplies
Business Cards
Property Flyers
Electronic Lockboxes
Continued RE Education
Legal Fees
Gas
Income taxes are not taken out so we have to put that aside around 25-30%.
Donât forget health insurance if we donât have a spouse who provides it.
As a listing agent we have lots of tasks; far more than just selling a home.

HOME STAGING TIPS THAT WON'T BREAK THE BANK đ°
I know I talk about staging a lot, and if you're about to sell, you might be thinking, "this sounds expensive."
If I think we need to bring in a professional stager, I will tell you honestly. But, most of the time, staging costs very little (if anything!). Here are a few of my favorite "on the fly" staging tips:
đĄ Play up the brightness of your home by opening all of the window shades, turning on every lamp, and replacing any dim lights with 100-watt bulbs.
đ Bring your furniture off the walls -- this is a trick to make rooms look bigger and more spacious, even if it's just a few feet.
đˇ Create mini "vignettes" throughout your home and stage end tables, nightstands, or empty surfaces with plants, fresh flowers, frames, and other decorative accents.
đ¨ Freshen up baseboards, moldings, and trim with white paint.
đ˝ Set the dinner table as though you were about to have a dinner party. It can help buyers easily imagine their gatherings around the table.
Pro tip: since we're all staying home more, I highly recommend trying some of these tips even if you aren't selling! Fresh flowers go a long way in brightening up a room and your mood!
Paying your landlord's mortgage is never a good idea. If you're contemplating the right move for you, speak with a lender sooner than later. There are many options available to first-time homebuyers, so don't miss out!
Here's a challenge, can you unscramble these words? Hint: They're real estate words! Comment below your answers!
Are you a first-time homebuyer? These tips may come in handy! Make sure to have these 5 tips checked off when you're home shopping! Shoot over a DM if you have any questions!
Spring is nearly here, and thatâs reason enough to get excited!
With more daylight and warmer temps, plus all the great home projects to start, spring can be a welcome reprieve after the winter.
What are your 3 favorite things about spring?
Want to repaint your home before selling? Try one of these colors to catch the eyes of potential buyers!
These colors are the best to show off your homeâs unique features and give it a fresh look.
Repainting your home is a great return on investment and is also a selling point for buyers.
A modern color, like one of these beautiful selections, can bring even an older home into 2023.
But better than just being trendy, these colors are classic and have true staying powerâmaking them even more appealing to buyers!
Want more recommendations like this? Make sure youâre following and save this post!
Remember to embrace the present while looking towards future goals.
When buying a home in 2023, you have two options.
1) Wait until interest rates drop and see what kind of home you can get
2) Or buy the home thatâs right for you now and refinance down the line
If youâre at a point in your life where youâre ready to buy a home, and it makes sense, the equity you build will make it worth the higher initial rate.
Remember: youâre not married to your interest rate. When rates drop in the future, you can refinance your mortgage and have the best of both worlds: a lower rate and a home thatâs building your financial future!
Want to talk more about whether or not buying a home right now is the right move for you? Just send a DM!
Don't let fear stand in the way of you accomplishing your dreams!
Take a risk, do the hard things, be uncomfortable! It is in those moments that you begin down the path toward changing your life.
Crockpot recipes are the best! This one is just a two-step meal, let it cook all day, add your pasta, and wait 30 mins, and dinner is served!

âď¸ 1 cup chicken broth
âď¸ 4 tablespoons unsalted butter cut into pieces

âď¸ 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
âď¸ 1/4 teaspoon pepper
âď¸ 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
âď¸ 1 pound rigatoni uncooked
âď¸ 4 ounces Parmesan cheese shredded
đ Add the chicken breasts, heavy cream, chicken broth, butter, cream cheese, salt, Italian seasoning, pepper, and garlic powder to your slow cooker.
đ Cover and cook for 4 hours on HIGH or 6 to 8 hours on LOW.
