Did you know that there is an important election coming up soon?! The Guilford Student Council Election…that is! 💙❤️

GE 3rd and 4th grade students had the opportunity to apply for a 2024-2025 Executive Student Council position back in the spring: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. Final candidates have moved on to the next stage, & all candidates are now displaying their campaign posters & working on student body speeches. We are loving their posters displayed all over the school & can’t wait to hear what they will do to promote student leadership, unity, and kindness at Guilford!

Our election will be in September, and the Student Council officers (plus Cabinet members) will do a variety of activities throughout the year. Thank you to Mrs. Gibbs & Mrs. Carter for sponsoring this awesome new group!

Safety of our students and staff is a top priority--and we work to evolve and improve our processes every year. Make sure you put your student's school safety meeting on your calendars. It's a chance to get YOUR questions about school safety answered by the principals, school resource officers, and administrators.

Guilford students are BACK & it was like they never left! 💙 Our short week included a lot of procedures & expectations, and we practiced school-wide drills and everyone did a fantastic job. Our “Big Kids” were especially a great example to our sweet new Kindergarten students! 📚

All grade levels enjoyed collaborating on different activities, and getting to know their new classmates. Ask your child about a new friend they might have met this week! Many classes also enjoyed parictipating in some fun olympic-themed games & activities…go Team USA! 🇺🇸

We finished our week with our first “High-Five FriYAY” & welcomed the PHS football team at dismissal! 🏈

The weekend is here, & we will see everyone back at school on Monday for our first full week!

School starts TOMORROW! Your Guilford staff was excited to be back yesterday & today to prepare for our awesome students!

Mrs. Perry led everyone through different trainings, teachers worked in their rooms, and we all participated in a fun (but challenging!) olympic-themed game. Team RED won the gold medal! 🥇We are looking forward to an awesome year!

Today was not your typical staff meeting at Guilford Elementary! Our wonderful classroom teachers & administrators had a final meeting to prepare for an amazing “Stem At Sea” trip to Alaska & we depart on Saturday morning! 🏔

Your favorite GE staff will enjoy studying and learning about Alaskan wildlife, landscapes, occupations at sea, and more! We are so excited to bring back a wealth of STEM knowledge to our students this following school year. 📝

It’s official! Plainfield High School grad, Daryn Wright, is headed to Paris to compete in 10M diving. We are so proud of her and are looking forward to cheering her on!

“Field Day Fun” was the name for the day! Mr. Lease planned an Olympic themed day for all grade levels, & everyone enjoyed rotating through a series of fun events! Good luck to Team USA in the actual Paris Olympics this summer! 🇺🇸

All students enjoyed their last High-Five dismissal & this time we invited seniors who had gone through Clarks Creek (many of their CC teachers are now at GE) & it was wonderful to see them in their caps & gowns. 🎓

Yesterday was all about our “Bigs & Littles!” Kindergarten students were able to participate in our annual Kindy 500 Race and enjoyed a cheerful parade through Guilford, followed by the race! Their smiles say it all! 🏁

Our 5th grade students had an entire day of fun planned for them that included a graduation ceremony, and celebration with: pizza, bounce houses, games, face painting, cotton candy, and more! We wish this class the best of luck at PCMS & know they will continue to do amazing things!

Today’s theme = Get OUTSIDE! Many Guilford students enjoyed our last Bike To School Day, and the weather was great! 🚲 1st grade students enjoyed a hiking presentation from PCSC’s Superintendant, Scott Olinger (an avid hiker!) & a few student winners were able to follow up with a special hike outdoors with him! ⛰ 3rd graders enjoyed showing off their amazing costumes & reports for their annual wax museum event today as well! 📝

Tomorrow’s day will be ALL about our 5th grade students, as we work to celebrate their accomplishments this year with a ceremony and celebration! 🥳

Kids Run in the rain = no problem! Guilford students enjoyed a fun run today (sponsored by ), & all grade levels were able to run 1 mile, followed by snacks and drinks! It was the perfect addition to the last week of school…as we are all “racing to the finish!” 🏁

Tomorrow’s (Tuesday) Bike To School day has been postponed due to potential weather…please plan to ride your bike Thursday, May 16th instead! 🚲
