We are monitoring the weather forecast for this afternoon. The worst of the severe weather is expected to impact our campuses during the 5:00-6:00 p.m. time period, so out of an abundance of caution, Extended Day will close at 4:30 p.m. to allow our staff time to get home safely. Additionally, we are canceling all after school activities this evening.
We continue to monitor the weather conditions and will implement our severe weather practices if needed.
First ever Good News with Goddard -- Dr. G shares his verse of the week from Romans 8!
While we were hoping to see our Lions tomorrow, unfortunately, the forecast is causing us concern for the safety of our students, parents and staff. At this time, the roads, parking lots and walkways of our campuses are very wet and temperatures are expected to dip well below freezing again tonight. That, in addition to the possibility of additional rain/sleet tonight, made necessary the decision to cancel school tomorrow (Friday, Feb. 3).
We know the roads are most likely drivable in your neighborhoods right now. Please remember that PCA has students and parents driving to our campuses from a variety of areas throughout the metroplex. Safety is our number one concern.
If the forecast holds and the temperatures rise well above freezing tomorrow afternoon, we plan for all after-school activities and games to resume, including PBC Freedom Weekend kick-off.
TODAY, Thursday, Feb. 2:
-All evening activities, games and practices are canceled.
TOMORROW, Friday, Feb. 3:
-PCA Campuses will remain closed.
-All after school and evening activities will occur unless temperatures do not rise.
-Freedom Weekend kick-off is on!
We continue to monitor weather forecasts and driving conditions, and out of an abundance of caution, all PCA campuses will remain closed on Thursday, February 2. All after school activities and practices currently scheduled for Thursday will be assessed individually, and parents can expect communication tomorrow.
Please know the safety of our students, parents and staff is of paramount importance. Updates will continue to be communicated via email, PrestonwoodChristian.org, myPCA, and social media. Stay warm!
We continue to monitor weather forecasts and driving conditions, and out of an abundance of caution, all PCA campuses will remain closed on Wednesday, Feb. 1. All activities and practices are canceled, as well. Stay safe and warm!
TODAY (Monday, Jan. 30):
-Dismissal at 2:00 p.m. for all students
-Extended Care is closing at 3:00 p.m. Parents please do your best to arrive by this time.
-All evening activities and practices are cancelled.
TOMORROW (Tuesday, Jan. 31):
-PCA Campuses will be closed including all evening activities and practices.
We will continue monitoring weather conditions to provide an update for Wednesday (Feb. 1) school and activities. PCA updates will be emailed and posted to myPCA, PrestonwoodChristian.org and social media.
We are continuing to monitor weather forecasts and driving conditions. School will release as usual today; however, parents can pick up early if desired. Extended Care will remain open until 5 p.m. today.
All after school and evening activities will be rescheduled, including events such as the Special Friends Game at Plano and the Ricky Chelette parent training at North.
Please stay tuned regarding school updates for tomorrow. Information will be communicated via email, PrestonwoodChristian.org, myPCA, and social media. Your student's safety is our priority. Stay safe and warm!
