This first-ever celebration honors the impact of AVID educators, students, schools and districts across the nation. AVID's mission is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society.

was all about Team Shepton today! Superintendent Williams and the cabinet kicked off their morning with a visit to Shepton High School, where they were warmly welcomed by Principal Courtney Washington and her amazing team. With the theme "Team Shepton: Every Day is a New Play," district leaders joined in the fun, greeting students as they headed to first period. Many thanks to Shepton for the hospitality and for showing us the incredible work happening in your classrooms! π«β¨
This week, Rice Middle School had a unique opportunity to host 10 students from Japan, thanks to a special visit from a Toyota Motor Corporation delegation! π―π΅ππΊπΈ
These students, whose parents work for Toyota, got to dive into American school life and share some of their own culture, from Japanese art to school traditions and celebrations. Our Rice Middle School ambassadors made sure they felt right at home! The event wrapped up with a delicious lunch, big thanks to H-E-B, Toyota USA, and the Plano ISD Education Foundation for making it all happen! π«Ά
On Thursday, Plano ISD Superintendent Dr. Theresa Williams hosted the district's first Superintendent's Roundtable of the school year. Geared towards small business leaders, the meeting included a district overview and update and a robust discussion regarding how small businesses and Plano ISD can team up to prepare our future workforce.

Diggs is widely known for originating the dual roles of βThomas Jeffersonβ and βMarquis de Lafayetteβ in the Broadway sensation πππ’ππ‘π©π€π£. Diggs has also appeared in Pixarβs ππ€πͺπ‘ and Disneyβs πππ πππ©π©π‘π πππ§π’πππ and starred in Lionsgateβs π½π‘ππ£ππ¨π₯π€π©π©ππ£π.

ππ We're thrilled to welcome all our students back to school tomorrow, August 13! As we gear up for another exciting year, we want to remind families about the importance of attendance on the first day.
π¨ Important Notice: Students who do not attend the first day of school without prior notice to the campus will be marked as a "no-show" and withdrawn from the system. This could impact their schedule and require additional processing if they return later.
To avoid any inconvenience, if your student will be absent on the first day but plans to attend later this week, please contact your child's campus before the end of the school day tomorrow, Tuesday, August 13.
