The skin is the body's largest organ. It's also vulnerable to the sun, which can cause serious damage. Most of us know that a good broad spectrum sunscreen is a nessecity, but there are still some myths about sunscreen that persist. Here are a few of the more common myths, and the truth behind the tales.

𝗠𝘆𝘁𝗵 𝟭: 𝗜 𝗱𝗼𝗻'𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝗻𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗳 𝗶𝘁'𝘀 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱𝘆 𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗱.
Clouds are simply water v***r, they can't protect you from UV rays. If it's cloudy or cold, you need to apply (and reapply) your sunscreen the same way you would if it were a warm, sunny day.

There's no such thing as waterproof sunscreen or sunblock. Even sunscreens that are water resistant will wash off! You still need to reapply sunscreen regularly to keep your skin safe.

No matter the number associated with the SPF, any sunscreen only works for about two hours. SPF refers to how much protection you're getting from the sunscreen, not how long it lasts.

Welcome to the village of Cheddar and Cheddar Gorge- where the ice age glaciers created this gorge hidden in the Mendip Hills. This spectacular natural landmark is also an international site for rock climbing! But fret not… we did not climb, only walked the trails between these awe-inspiring cliffs!
We began our journey at the river Cheddar Yeo- to find the legend making “Sword and the Stone”. Whoever pulls the sword from the stone is the true king of England!! Tim decided not to try! Ha-ha!
Then our trek began with more goats!!! And a lot of walking - but the stunning cliffs made it worth every step!
And if that wasn’t enough exercise… up we went on the stairs of Jacob’s Ladder - 274 of them!!! My picture only shows the first 32 steps!! But, the view at the top was lovely- above the tree tops, overseeing the village of Cheddar!
How did we end the day? My cousin had decided… with marshmallow hot chocolate, of course!

Welcome to the Cheddar Caves! Home to cheddar cheese!! The mystical beauty of these cave formations cannot be captured in a photo - but I tried!
Discovered deep in one of the cave crevices - was Cheddar Man! He is dated back 9000 years to the Mesolithic time! In 1997 DNA tests were carried out on the Cheddar Man and then testing of DNA with the local schools was done - and there was a match! Adrian Targett, a history teacher, shared the same DNA and is a descendant, even though he was born 400 generations later!!
We saw the cheddar nestled in the cave, waiting to mature- and, yes, I had to have a cheese sandwich after we left the caves!!

We now have a change of scenery!! We have left the seaside of Brixham and have moved on to the countryside of Somerset! We are staying in a most unique home sitting on a cliff side, overlooking the village of Cheddar! The birthplace of Cheddar cheese- an area known for the mystical Cheddar gorges and caves! Oh…. and the goats!!!
We were given a gift basket of all the things that make Cheddar unique!
Our bedroom has a balcony that overlooks the cliff edge. While getting ready for bed last night- we heard a noise! The goats were coming down the cliff to say hello!!
And then, this morning we sat on the upper terrace balcony- only to look down and see the goats saying “Good Morning” !!

The South West Coast Path is England’s longest walking trail which is waymarked for 630 miles! Tim and I accepted the challenge - and walked 5 miles! Ha-ha!
We began at point #1 on the map, in the Brixham Harbor. We then went backwards from 18 to 11.
Through the beautiful wooded forests, to the seaside paths, the scenery was spectacular! After a light lunch at the Gaurdhouse Tea Room, we were off again to walk the coast along the rocks!
Winding our way up to a beautiful hotel patio for a glass of wine -was the perfect ending to a perfect day! Cherishing the many splendors of England! Cheers!!

Welcome to Dartmouth and Dartmouth Castle! Construction on this castle started in 1388! It has been modified over the years and was still used in WW II as a Battery up to 1943!!! The Church of St. Petrox is enclosed inside the Fort.
Dartmouth is a lovely coastal parish- that we ferried to for the day. The best part was being able to spend another perfect day with my uncle Richard!
