Are you constantly overthinking? Overthinking is common and can be normal, but when it starts to take over, it can potentially ruin your daily life. Those with ADHD often struggle more with overthinking, so it is important to find ways to calm your mind.
Overthinking can cause severe depression and frustration to people with ADHD. Constant attacks by lingering and intrusive thoughts can have a number of adverse implications.
Here’s a list of healthy ways to combat negative overthinking:
1: Exercise - Get moving and get those endorphins flowing! Exercise classes are a great way to lighten your mood and don’t allow time for overthinking!
2: Tune into a TV Show - Need time to decompress after work without allowing yourself to sit and overthink? Find a TV show that you love and will look forward to. Zone into the show and zone out of your negative thoughts.
3: Focus on a Goal - Give yourself something to work towards. It could be as simple as starting your own garden or you can go as far as starting a new side hustle. Put all of your attention on achieving your new goal. By focusing on something positive and productive, your deep thinking will shift towards something positive.
4: Do good - Rather than focusing your thoughts on self-pity and negativity, take that time that you were using for overthinking and go volunteer and do good for others!
5: Find a new hobby - If you have time to constantly overthink, then you have time to pickup a new skill or hobby. Join a community sports team, learn a new crafting skill, or go for bike rides! Having hobbies can lower anxiety, lower your stress level, and help cope with depression! A hobby helps you relax and do something you enjoy without any of the pressures of the outside world.

🚨Attention impulse shoppers! 🚨 We know holiday sales are here and there are beautiful things to purchase everywhere… be aware of your impulsivity and take control! Here are a few tips we use when we feel to shop till we drop:
🙅🏼♀️ Avoid going into stores as much as possible! Even with grocery/Target orders… if you can get your essentials online and have them delivered - it will help with last-minute impulse buys.
📱❌ Unsubscribe and don’t opt-in for text/email notifications about sales and new products!
💯 If you think an item is 100% something you can’t live without, add it to your cart and sleep on it for a night. Many times impulsivity can creep up on us at night as we are mindlessly scrolling!
☮️ Rather than scrolling through your favorite online stores, try a yoga class, go for a walk, or do something active!
🆘 Have an SOS friend or family member who can talk you out of !!
