How long do I need to rest after my tummy tuck? 💤
It is recommended that patients take one to two weeks to recover following their tummy tuck, however, this may vary depending on your lifestyle, and the degree of the procedure.
You will be given detailed instructions by your plastic surgeon about post-operative care, including medications you should be taking, caring for the surgical sites, and the follow-up consultations necessary.
You will need to wear a compression garment so that swelling is minimized and your abdomen heals faster. Strenuous activity should be avoided for three to six weeks. Walking is encouraged following a tummy tuck, as it may minimize post-operative complications.

Help the girls heal with the right bra! 🍒
When looking for the right bra after healing from a breast augmentation you’re looking for comfort, support, and a style that fits you best. Take your time to try on different styles, choosing a good bra can help you maintain your results for a long time and help you feel more comfortable.
When you begin to purchase new bras, ideally wait until results finally set in, which is around 6-8 weeks but varies based on patients. Save some money and wait for swelling to go down, and for them to fall into place!
Right after surgery, reach for a surgical bra, these are specifically designed for post-operative use. Some of our favorite brands are Marena, Caromed, and Macom!

🚨Think you broke your nose?! DON’T wait to meet with a doctor, here’s why…
When the nose structure becomes compromised, the cartilage starts to shift and adjust to the new, altered framework. This movement of the cartilage is the body's way of trying to maintain function and support despite the structural changes.
However, if corrective surgery is not performed promptly, the cartilage and other tissues will continue to adapt to this compromised state. Over time, this can lead to further deformation and instability of the nasal structure.
Waiting too long to address these issues can result in the need for a much more invasive and complex procedure. It’s crucial to seek prompt medical attention if you notice any changes or issues with your nasal structure. Early intervention can prevent the need for more extensive surgery and help ensure a better overall outcome.

The decision to put someone under anesthesia is a result of assessing a variety of factors:
✔️Medical History
✔️Current Medications
✔️Vital Signs
✔️Age
These are just SOME of the factors considered when being put under anesthesia. In general, the healthier the patient, the lower the risk associated with anesthesia. The decision is always personalized, taking into account specific health conditions and the nature of the procedure.
It is so important to be transparent about your medical history and current medications to avoid risks with being put under anesthesia. Your safety is our #1 priority.

We asked Dr. Harris, “If you could only perform one type of surgery for the rest of your career, what would it be and why?” That’s a loaded question, isn’t it?!
“This is a tough question because I still like my job and enjoy so many different procedures.
While breast augmentations are generally quick and simple and make a lot of people very happy, they’re just so easy... they’re not challenging to me any longer. Such is the case with most of the body procedures, too. Liposuction and tummy tucks have become pretty simple for me as crazy as this may sound, but is the case after 30 years of doing Plastic Surgery. If I could do just one procedure for the rest of my life that would still challenge me and give me fulfillment, it would have to be doing facelifts. They don’t take hours and hours; they give my patients a lot of joy and I can sit down to work (ha).”

Being a board-certified plastic surgeon means that our surgeons have undergone extensive training and testing in the field of plastic surgery. They are the experts! 💥
Board-certified plastic surgeons have gone through years of school, training, and examination. They must complete medical school, a medical residency that typically lasts 5 to 7 years, and an additional fellowship in a specific area of interest. But it does not stop there! They are continuously learning and re-certifying themselves to ensure growth in a fast-paced industry like plastic surgery. Board-certified plastic surgeons must participate in ongoing education and periodically pass recertification exams to maintain their certified status.
How does this benefit you? A board-certified plastic surgeon knows how to care for you beyond compare, is an expert in a wide range of procedures, and can give you better aesthetic and functional results.

When considering liposuction, it’s important to understand the differences between visceral fat and subcutaneous fat. Here’s what you need to know! 👇
Visceral fat surrounds your internal organs, located deep within the abdominal cavity. This type of fat is not directly accessible through liposuction due to its location around vital organs.
Subcutaneous fat is located just beneath the skin. This type of fat is directly accessible through liposuction and is typically the target of the procedure.
Liposuction targets subcutaneous fat, and understanding this distinction is important when setting realistic expectations.

Let’s talk about Rhinoplasty! 👃
Rhinoplasty, or nose surgery, is designed to alter the shape and structure of the nose. But doesn’t a person’s nose never stop growing?!
The notion that the nose never stops growing is based on the fact that certain parts of the human body continue to change throughout a person’s life. The cartilage in the nose and ears continues to grow and change as we age.
The nose can change with age because of:
✔️Cartilage Growth
✔️Collagen Breakdown
✔️Gravity
While rhinoplasty can achieve significant and lasting improvements, the nose, like other parts of the body, will continue to change with age. Understanding this can help patients make informed decisions and maintain satisfaction with their results over time.

breast augmentation results. ⤵️
When undergoing breast augmentation, it's important to understand that the final results won't be immediately apparent.
👉🏼 Initially, you may experience significant swelling and bruising, with the implants sitting higher on your chest.
👉🏼Over the first few weeks, the swelling subsides and the implants begin to settle.
👉🏼Between three to six months, the "dropping and fluffing" phase occurs, where the implants drop into a more natural position and the breast tissue fluffs out, creating a softer appearance.
👉🏼By six months to a year post-surgery, your breasts should fully settle into their final shape and position.
Factors such as implant type, placement, and individual healing processes all influence the final outcome. Maintaining realistic expectations and following your surgeon's care instructions are crucial for achieving the best possible results. 👍🏼

Social media can be a valuable tool for connecting patients with reputable surgeons and reliable information, but it also presents significant risks.
It's crucial you approach these platforms with caution, recognizing that not all content is accurate or beneficial. Understanding what is realistically achievable for your body is essential to avoid unrealistic expectations and potential disappointment. ✔️
When seeking information or considering aesthetic procedures, it's important to follow board-certified surgeons with positive reputations. These providers are more likely to provide accurate, safe, and ethical advice. By doing so, you can gain a better understanding of what procedures entail, including potential risks and realistic outcomes.
Prioritizing quality and credibility in the digital age can lead to more informed and appropriate decisions. 👏🏼
