It didn't take long for the community to finish this puzzle at Haggard! 🥳

There are community puzzles at Davis, Haggard and Schimelpfenig libraries, allowing you to work on the puzzle together. At the Community Puzzle table, you'll find the available puzzle as well as trays to help sort pieces.

Reminder: We are upgrading our book return equipment! The photo is the exterior return that has been installed at Parr Library. An updated schedule is at the end of this post.

The interior and exterior book returns (sorters) are being replaced at all five libraries:

- When the exterior book drop is closed, you may return items inside during open hours or at another library
- When the interior book return is closed, there will be a return bin for your convenience.

When returning to a bin, there will be a slight delay in materials showing returned on your account as staff have to check items in manually. If you are returning overdue materials and want to check out new materials immediately, please let a staff member know before putting your items in the bin so they can assist you.

Schedule for exterior book return closures:
- Parr, complete ✅
- Harrington, July 15-19 --> *New dates: July 22-26*
- Haggard, July 22-26
- Davis, July 29-Aug 2
- Schimelpfenig, August 5-9

Beat the heat and come to the library! Plenty of space to work or study, and we have WiFi, printers/copiers, computers, study rooms you can reserve and helpful library staff.

07/19/2024

3:54pm update: The computers used to print 3D print jobs are all currently down. While they are in the queue to get fixed, they may not be available over the weekend.

Some computers and self-checks are still unavailable. If you have your own laptop, you can connect to library WiFi and use library space. You can use the library's mobile app to check out materials.

-

9:07am: All five Plano libraries are experiencing intermittent outages with computers and self-checkout machines. You can utilize the library mobile app to check out materials.

We apologize for the inconvenience and will update as we have more information.

Looking for something to read? Participate in the Big Library Read global eBook club with Libby: https://libbyapp.com/library/plano/campaign-big-library-read-11185/page-1/9937219

From July 11-25, 2024 the Big Library Read is "Twilight Territory" by Andrew X. Pham. This title is available in the Libby app without any holds or waitlists - you can read it immediately.

About "Twilight Territory": A lushly panoramic novel, by turns gritty and profoundly moving, Twilight Territory is at once a war story and a love story that offers a fascinating perspective on Vietnam’s struggles to break free of its French colonial past. At its heart is one woman’s struggle for independence and her country’s liberation.

07/17/2024

Are you a self-check power user?

All five of our libraries have self-check machines to make it easy for you to get in, scan the items you want to check out, and get going. You can also check your account using the self-check machine!
