President Joe Biden has suspended his campaign for reelection and has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris for the nomination.

We want to thank President Biden for his lifelong commitment to the American people. We are forever grateful for his many decades of public service and his remarkable and impactful presidency.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Her dedication to justice, equality, and public service has left a lasting impact on our state and nation. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time. Rest in peace, Congresswoman Lee.

Greg Abbott fled from Hurricane Beryl, leaving millions without power during a heat advisory.

Now, he's left Texas behind once again for the RNC.

We can't afford -- we can't afford another trump admin.

The Collin County Democratic Party echoes our President's sentiments on today's tragic act of political violence.

We stand with the rule of law and condemn any act of violence, political or otherwise. We support peace and justice for all Americans, regardless of their political affiliations.

We mourn the loss of the attendee who was killed, and we hope there are no further confirmed deaths or injuries. Additionally, we wish Mr. Trump a speedy recovery.

The majority of women in states with abortion bans believe access should be legal. A majority of these women — 67 percent — believe that abortion should be legal in all or most cases, according to the survey taken February 20-28, 2024. More than 20 percent of women ages 18 to 49 in those states also said they or someone they know struggled to access abortion after Roe’s overturn, a first-of-its-kind KFF survey shows.

In 2023, over 35,000 patients fled Texas to get abortion care in another state, according to data from the Guttmacher Institute, a pro-abortion research and policy organization. Nationwide, over 170,000 patients traveled out of state for abortion care, according to the data, which Guttmacher collected to analyze the impact of the Supreme Court’s Dobbs opinion in 2022, which overturned Roe v. Wade.
