The distribution and supply division of Chick-fil-A wants to redevelop a Weston property to build a cold storage warehouse and distribution facility to serve all of its South Florida restaurants.
The City Commission will consider the site plan and several exceptions sought by Supply Properties, part of Atlanta-based Chick-fil-A, on Aug. 19. The company acquired the 15.8-acre site at 3225 Meridian Parkway for $50.5 million in February.
The property currently has a 207,335-square-foot warehouse that was built in 1995. It was previously used by Kehe Distributors, a food distributor.
Chick-fil-A intends to demolish the old warehouse and build a 157,314-square-foot cold storage and distribution warehouse, plus a separate 9,252-square-foot vehicle maintenance building so truck repairs could be performed on site. There would also be a guardhouse to control access to the site. The warehouse would include 13,992 square feet of office space.

In 2022, the City Commission approved the $11.2 million sale of the property at the southeast corner of Northeast 12th Avenue and Northeast 38th Street to a joint venture between Boca Raton-based Falcone Group, led by Miami Worldcenter developer Art Falcone; and Delray Beach-based general contractor Kaufman Lynn. They were selected following a competitive request for proposals process.

UrbanLink Air Mobility plans to add sea routes to its upcoming air taxi service.
The Miami company announced it will purchase 20 zero-emission vessels from Artemis Technologies that will be used as luxury water taxis. The vehicles will operate in Southern California, Florida and the Caribbean in early 2026.

Lennar Corp. (NYSE: LEN) is seeking approval for a for-sale townhouse development in Wilton Manors.
The city’s Development Review Committee will consider the rezoning and site plan applications for the 5-acre property at 1550 N.E. 26th St. on Aug. 13. The Miami-based homebuilder has the site, which is mostly a parking lot, under contract from Sunny Isles Beach-based UDC Manors LLC.
Lennar wants to rezone the property from “community facility” and “single-family” to “planned unit development residential.”
Its site plan calls for 50 townhouses and 151 parking spaces, including a garage space for each home. There would be a dog park but not a clubhouse or a pool.
The townhouses would range from 1,452 square feet to 2,289 square feet, each with a balcony. There would be two-story units with three bedrooms, two-story units with four bedrooms, and three-story units with three bedrooms plus a playroom, extra half-bathroom and terrace with a grill on the top floor.

The Martinez Team is looking for a 4,000 to 6,000 SF flex space to lease in Broward County for Innuvo Inc.
Miami Freedom Park, the future Inter Miami CF soccer stadium and a massive mixed-use development, received $8 million from Governor Ron DeSantis.
The Florida Job Growth Grant Fund money will help with infrastructure around the stadium, including construction of a roadway. DeSantis said the Miami Freedom Park Drive project was worth the grant due to the amount of jobs, and traffic, it will create.
About 131 acres in size, the $400 million Miami Freedom Park project will include a Major League Soccer stadium with 21,130 seats as well as 600,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space, 750 hotel rooms, a 400,000-square-foot tech district, a municipal administration building for the city of Miami, 5,530 parking spaces, a municipal administration building, and a 58-acre park, according to the county's application.

Federal Realty Investment Trust (NYSE: FRT) acquired the remaining 10% of the CocoWalk mixed-use center in Miami’s Coconut Grove from the Comras Co. and Miami-based Grass River Property for $12.4 million.
The North Bethesda, Maryland-based company announced in its second quarter earnings release that it purchased the non-controlling interest in CocoWalk, giving it 100% ownership of the property at 3015 Grand Ave.

A global corporation that sells and produces contact lenses and eye health care products opened an office in Miami Beach.
Bausch + Lomb moved into the fifth floor of the Starwood Capital building at 2340 Collins Avenue in late March, a spokesperson said. The office, approximately 8,300 square feet, was previously occupied by the venture capitalist firm Andreessen Horowitz, also known as a16z.
The new office is the latest step in the company's plan to maintain "strategic office locations throughout the U.S.," said T.J. Crawford, chief of communications for Bausch + Lomb.
