Yesterday, a news article came out stating that Farmers Insurance is leaving California. This is NOT accurate. Farmers is a collection/group of companies that make up our Farmers Insurance. What is leaving is Farmers Direct. This division of Farmers is part of the Metlife acquisition. You would get a policy with Farmers/Metlife directly, but have no agent support, no bundled discounts, etc. Farmers Direct (aka Metlife) is leaving CA. Farmers Insurance Group is continuing business as usual.
