For months I wanted to do a Daisy Jones and the Six inspired session and man oh man did Maia kill it 🔥! She is a natural!

I climbed into the rafters in our garage to grab my husband’s old guitar, pulled my dad’s 60s era suede fringed vest out of the closet, and then found the perfect location. I loved using some of the special items I had on hand for this session.

This session came together perfectly and was a dream come true. So many more to edit and share!

Why is printing your art so important?

You know that feeling when you see those professional photos of your senior or family for the first time? That’s one of the best feelings isn’t it?

But soon that feeling fades & then the photos have a tendency to live on your computer rather than your walls.

Who has the time to sort through 100 images and decide what to do with them? It’s overwhelming 🤪!

I feel you & understand how precious & limited your time is. So when we have your session reveal you & I create a plan for what to do with your photos. I guide you through the process. I walk you through narrowing them down so you only have images you really love. I will even come to your home so we can work together on where your artwork will hang. You get to just savor your artwork every day while your kiddo is off to college.

It’s easy for a photographer to tell you how important it is to print your photos, but they’re not the ones sitting in a timesuck at your computer trying to figure out what to do with all those photos.

One of the most treasured aspects of my job are all the families here in the San Francisco East Bay that return to me year after year for their photo sessions. Watching their kiddos grow is a reminder of what a thief time can be because those changes from year to year are dramatic.

Graduation is approaching at lightning speed. It’s such a thrilling moment. But can I share an idea with you?

Before that big day arrives make a bucket list of all the things you want to do before you leave in the fall.

🔸 a cold brew coffee date with Mom
🔸 buy some fun posters or print photos for your dorm room

🔸 visit all the fun & cheesy tourist spots in SF like Pier 39, Coit Tower, & Lombard Street

Make the most of this summer with your family & friends. Create some fabulous memories. And even though the senior-itis is probably hitting you in a big way, savor these last weeks of school.

What is it you love? What do you want to incorporate into your senior portrait session? For Dylan it was a stream. He loves to fish and as his mom says, “he’s a country boy.”

We had the perfect location with a creek, rolling green hills, and lush trees. Unfortunately all those epic storms closed the park due to landslides and we were back to square one.

I was ⭐️determined⭐️ to make that creek vision of his come to fruition. We found a new location that not only had a creek, but a tiny waterfall in addition to a rural landscape 🙌🏻.

Your session tells your story and you deserve to have it told. To have it celebrated and commemorated. And mamas, you deserve to have your love for your baby preserved in timeless artwork.

Dear Class of 2023,

There’s something important for you to know while those acceptance letters are coming in. When you open those envelopes there may be some disappointment that feels crushing, there may be some profound relief, and there may be epic joy. But here’s something to remember, everyone finds the school they were meant to be at. The college you choose may not be your dream school, but you will create memories to last a lifetime and find yourself creating a new adventure as you begin your journey into adulthood.

Tomorrow the college kiddo heads back to college 🥺. I loved having this short time with her and am sad to see her go. All the sappy mama feels aside, I am happy she found her the college that was a perfect fit for her. It makes my heart fill with joy to know she is happy and thriving.

So to all those parents who are preparing to watch their babies walk across that stage, grab their diploma, and began the summer of goodbye before heading to college please know that I see you. It’s a season full of bittersweet moments, but watching them find their footing and thrive makes it 100% worth it.

Getting to know you is so important to me.

Building a relationship with my clients happens in several ways so we have a nurturing and authentic foundation.

We start when you book your session consult. During that time I go into detail about the process of what working with me and my studio looks like. Once you book your session we will schedule your style consult so we can meet up in person and go over all your ideas to ensure you have your ⭐️dream⭐️ session. When your big day arrives I spend time with you beforehand just chatting to ensure that you are comfortable. By the time your session reveal rolls around we will be nice and comfortable with one another. Yay!!!! Finally I get to squeeze in one more visit with you when your heirloom artwork arrives. But trust me, that definitely won’t be farewell! I’ll be cheering you on from afar when you cross the stage with diploma firmly in hand, and also when you load those boxes into your car and head off to college.

Sometimes you find a lovely little gem only to return a few months later and find it gone 🥺😩😱.

and I am so glad we snapped these photos. Three months later and all the vibrant bougainvillea was nothing but a stalk. We got lucky!

Who else was loving that sunshine today?

Holiday hiatus is officially over. Sob! Everyone will be making their way back to school, parents will be savoring that final semester of their child’s senior year, senior-itis will be kicking in big time for the seniors, and I am officially back in the office after savoring some time off to be with my family.

How was your break? Mine was lovely ❤️. I felt like I got some quality time with our college kiddo and saw snippets of our teen when he surfaced for air from his video games, I had some date nights with my hubby, the house is organized again with a pile of things headed to the thrift store, all the holiday decorations have been tenderly packed away after watching us make new some new memories, the rainy days, of which there were/are many, had me cozily nestled in my home with a good book, and I am currently mulling over goals for 2023 as I ease into the new year.

Yes, this break was just what my soul needed.

Cheers to healthy, prosperous, and joyful 2023! Stay dry out there as you all make your way back to school tomorrow and mamas, fortunately the rain will hide those tears as your teen heads into their final semester of high school☔!
